A few things I forgot to mention. The Eotech 552 uses common AA batteries. The Strikefire uses CR2 batteries which are a little strange for a firearms optic. For self defense, neither optic here is preferable because you might struggle to turn them on in a panic. Dexterity is the first thing a person loses when adrenaline is pumping. An Aimpoint would be preferable for self defense due to battery life. No matter what red dot you use, and no matter what the rifle is intended for have a BUIS. Your range day could be ruined without one at best or you lose your life at worst in a firefight because you have no way to aim.
Ease of use on both optics to zero or use the buttons to adjust settings such as NV modes, or adjusting brightness is very easy to do.

CR2 is more common by the day. It's AA that's being obsoleted.
The strike fire 2 will hold its own against any red dot even in war
Is that the strike fire 2 and how's it holding up
