Scorpion Hunt Black Light Dark

Scorpion hunt in my backyard in Glendale, Arizona, on July 14, 2013. Found several, normally only find 1-3 each night. They tend to hang out in the cracks of the common walls/fence in the backyard. I use a Streamlight Twin-Task 3C flashlight with 365nm wavelength black light to locate the scorpions in the dark, spray adhesive to slow them down, a jumbo dollar store fly swatter to dispatch and a needle nose pliers to dispatch. Excuse the poor video quality, all I have to record is my cell phone. Feel free to ask any questions. Please don’t leave any nasty comments.

  1. I used the spray stuff when I first started. You just have to be fast. I don't use it anymore. Most of the time They'll just be sitting there stationary. If they sense you're coming after them, they can take off pretty fast and hide in different places. If you choose to stomp on them, make sure you track your foot because they can flatten pretty thin and be unharmed.
