@mrgunsngear, after I follow this procedure, and my barrel is installed, am I good to go to the range? No need to measure anything so long as it's a quality barrel assembly and I follow the torque specs with good equipment?
Jeez too much work for me 🙄. Looks like I'll keep my stupid California barrel
Was that barrel nut already on that barrel? If not, did you have to slide it on before you installed the front sight?
I love these old how to videos
YouTube really dicked us out of great content from a guy with a beautiful head
Thank you mrg. Just what I needed. I have seen some gsmiths tighten and release the barrel 3 times for some reason and that has confused me as to what they are doing. I think you showed me that is not necessary. Also recently I saw an auto mechanic use a digital torque wrench and that was a slick tool. Great job. thx.
Wow it’s that easy…
Just out of curiosity, if I torque the barrel nut down to 30 ft lb, but the teeth haven't lined up properly – and if I'm able to apply more torque to get the teeth to line up with the port for the gas tube and still stay under 80 ft lbs…any particular reason this wouldn't be a good way? Does it have to do with "seasoning" the threads to the receiver? Again just curious.
Mrgunsngear, how much torque do you need for the barrel nut?
where is the link to removing the front post sight on AR? Can't find it on your channel either… good video as always though.
Awesome video man! It is very helpful!!
great video
This video was a huge help. Thanks!
Just subscribed!! I just built an AR lower. Looks like this is pretty easy?? Can a "first time" with skills do a quality job? Maybe I should buy a complete upper??
are retainers interchangeable between barrels ?…. the reason i ask is because i want to change my barrel to a longer one and have a mid length gas block instead of the carbine length gas block i have now.
Had a ? What does it mean when my AR is keyhole my shoots. Does it mean my barrel is going out ? Thanks you 👍
is a chf barrel worth the extra money?
Great video.
What size punch are you using for the gas tube pin?
excellent video sir!
Is this the same method for an ar 308 barrel replacment?
That video was very helpful thanks! the gunsmith that I was going g to go to was going to charge me 50 dollars to swap out my barrel.
where can you buy the inner piece of the vice block with out buying the entire set?
I have the vice block {outer part}
Does it matter what brand of lithium grease is used for install?
what if you wana keep the optic on?
what kind of barrel did you put on and what advantages if any?
learn to use torque wrench first. those two wrenches should be connected at 90 degree angle
I got the receiver blocks but not the 1 that sits inside the upper am I at a major risk installing the barrel without that
