I do some shooting with the BCM KeyMod mid length handugard, go over the features of it, compare it to a Magpul and standard AR-15 mil spec hand guard, and discuss what I think of it overall. Yes, I did shoot this video back in 2016! 😁

  1. Great video!Β  I have a question on the light mount…You talk about light mounts maybe having an issue with clearance, In your background pic during the video it looks like you have an Inforce WML mounted..?Β  I'm assuming that this worked with no clearance problems..??Β  Also assuming youΒ  used a Keymod pic rail section for the mount?Β  Thanks for any help and once again, Great Video!

  2. I'm sure they're well made being BCM, but I prefer the Magpul SL handguard aesthetically (and because it's M-Lok) to nearly every other drop-in rail. This ones a LOT more tasteful then some others that folks have come out with lately though. Savage, DD, Mossberg, Blackhawk… all of those are just beyond fugly. This BCM actually looks good IMO.

I'd be interested to see your opinions on the drop-in UTG pro rail that's an analog of sorts to the one you have on your SOPMOD Block-1 clone rifle (the one that extends the rail past the FSB but allows it to pop up through it. I only had one non FF rifle until I was randomly gifted a barreled upper with an F-marked FSB and a surprisingly accurate non-name 1:8 barrel and I'm trying to decide what to do about a handguard… I don't wanna give you TOO big a hewad LOL but your reviews/opinions carry a lot of weight in what I choose to buy if I'm in the market for X or Y (no, that wasn't an intended poem…)

  3. Interesting to see that BCM will still release a product nearly 2 years behind the "new" trends or expectations of the buyers market. BCM is still BCM and they'll have a quality product they know will sell. Just the fact that they used metal in the keymod sections along with polymer is cool to see since they wanted to make it work and not just put out a crummy product. Maybe with the Mlok phase kicking off due to the mil testing they'll bring around an Mlok version? Β―_(ツ)_/Β―

  4. I have to stop watching your channel… Every-time I see something I like that you've reviewed, I have to work overtime to get the stuff. Hahaha.. Jk, thanks for the upload. Your effort is greatly appreciated.

  5. I've been using both a carbine and a midlength version since they became available back in the fall of 2017 and I like them a lot. The slim profile and light weight are nice. Also since I'm totally uncool and have no tactical street cred, I still use the standard FSB front sling swivel and the ability to retain it is a nice plus with the PKMR vs something like the Magpul MOE-SL handguards, which require the FSB sling swivel be removed in order to install them. I think all things being equal I'd prefer an M-Lok version of the PKMRs, since M-Lok seems to be the superior system, but since all I hang off the front of my ARs are foregrips/handstops and lights, issues like zero shift and so forth aren't a concern so Keymod works fine for me.
