  1. Wish there was a 1k range around me! Looks like a great round, I'm interested to see what happens with it… I have a few other things on the wishlist above 224, but its definitely on there! Great review bud

  2. LoL ๐Ÿ˜‚ at 4:28 that look when asked about BC total confusion. Like your videos but claiming you had no data well make it. You have a chronograph and you have a smart phone and you can get the BC for the bullet. Bingo you got data. Still a good video ๐Ÿ‘ no hate

  3. If you are looking for long range precision you need long bullet (high BC) with fast twist.A 24" bbl, at 6.5:1 rifling pitch might get a long 90-100 gr. bullet down range to 1000 without tumbling.ย ย  Anything less…..I doubt it.ย ย  Might as well back off to 77 gr. MK262 and use a 1:7 twist 20 or 22" bbl. AR-15.

  4. What is the twist on the barrel.ย  What is the length on the barrel. Some clowns are reboring chamber on AR-15 barrel stock and shooting 69-77 gr. bullets and calling it Valkyrie. If it is not 6.5:1 twist, long barrel, and 90 gr. or more, it is just an expensive AR-15.

  5. how about putting a 5 gallon bucket of water at 1000 yards and shooting it. no lid on it. just a bucket full of water. it would show the power of the round at 1000 yards if you could split screen it with a camera at the bucket and one looking over the shooters shoulder. that would be a true test. I have one with a cmmg 24 inch heavy barrel with a matched bolt head. I haven't had the weather to test it for anything but function. I will say i'm impressed so far.

  6. OMG…really? No data/dope? ffs sootch did you ever hear of JBM? It's online and free, you could also download an app like shooter to you phone. You have approx fps and BC so with the input of altitude, temp and baro you can get your drops. The app/solver may even have the bullet in it's library

  7. That rifle is ridiculously long…what's the point. That's more unwieldy than a 7.62 You might as well have a 7.62 16" to get to 1K, more energy too. People are always trying to use the wrong tool for the job.

  8. Geezus christ, whatever happened to just doping the wind and getting on target the old fashioned way. Who sits around bragging about not having computer data to get you on target. Making marksmen out of morons

  9. I'm sorry … this cartridge it's a true battle cartridge. It is just fantastic. If I can't get a Savage upper to go with my Savage lower I'm just going to have to build one or pick one up at Palmetto State Armory and if necessary replace the barrel.

  10. I'll keep the 6mm Grendel and 6mm SPC, no that's not a typo, 6mm (.243 on Grendel and SPC brass) out does the 224 Valkyrie both Terminally and Externally ballistics wise…but this makes sense for the range hero's out there.

  11. Hey Sootch, been curious about this round for a while. I did hear where the name Valkrie came from, but I have lost the info in my head (spinal cord surgery). When the .204 Ruger came out ammo was everywhere, now it's harder to find and more expensive. Do you foresee ammo difficulties with the Valkrie? You have got to like a company that makes nothing but ammo! Good on ya Federal. Side note: Your thoughts on ceracoat finishes, is it as durable as claimed – or will it chip off like paint? Thank You Sootch. Oh ya, near stroke when you said "70 inches less drop"!!! Looking forward to complete review

  12. I love my .243 I guess fans don't talk about it because we(fans) like our ammo available, and people rag on it because its a big case with a 6mm round…shoots 1/4 minute angle with 3800fps, 55gr nosler bt round. 1 clean hole. ๐Ÿ™‚ 1/14 twist, 28in Douglas on a dirty old mauser with a timney trigger. An expert assembled it for me as a birthday gift.
