I got a couple of after market 2 stage triggers for my rifle. One from CMMG and another from Rock River Arms, I got the CMMG first as an “upgrade” for the stock trigger, and it turned out to be junk, it’s heavy and doesn’t make shooting fun. The Rock River arms on the other hand has a much lighter trigger, about half the pull weight of stock, and is a true drop in, match grade trigger.

RRA has their 2 stage match trigger on sale for $62 right now !!
I like the RR stuff I have. I have 3 of these triggers so all my rifles have the same trigger pull.
RR is also great if you want an affordable, highly accurate gun. Their non-chrome lined target barrels are highly accurate but, like any non-lined barrel, they take a bit more cleaning & won't last as long. I have a heavy barrel carbine with the RR barrel & it is truly a sub MOA gun. Lots of companies claim sub MOA, few deliver. RR delivers at a very reasonable price. That is the two things RR really delivers on. Their NM trigger is 90% the quality of triggers costing 3x as much & their target barrels are 90% of barrels costing 3x as much or more.
I love my Rock River 2 stage trigger in my AR. Mil Spec trigger is awful once you fire the Rock River trigger. Perfect break and feel. You know exactly when the rifle will fire.
I have been saying the exact same thing to friends for years. FOR THE MONEY, the RRA 2 stage NM trigger is the best on the market. Notice I said, FOR THE MONEY. I have turned a couple of my friends onto this trigger and never has anyone regretted it. Great video bro.
I had the same dilemma, CMMG or Rock River NM, I decided on the Rock River and glad I did, everything I read of the CMMG confirms everything you mentioned.
Can you use a non-rotating pin kit w/ the RRA NM 2-stage kit? Or do you HAVE to use the pins RRA sends with the kit? (I only ask because I have both kits on hand.)
I have a CMMG Ver 2 and it is perfect.
4.75 lbs total.
I went to a Timney on my Rock River Arms 223 and 308 and ended up back to the Rock River Arms NM two stage. I agree with you, you can't go wrong with this trigger….
When I contacted them that was basically the impression that I got, they said that even if they did a trigger job on it there was no idea of what the pull would end up like!
I'm sending mine in to CMMG to see what they can do. I have the above 3 triggers and the RRA is by far the best. It is said that the RRA triggers don't last as long, and will change into a single stage at some point as they wear, but the pull is light and I like it. CMMG looks much better but that is not my experience so far, My CMMG feels harder to pull than my stock trigger. My friend's CMMG trigger is close to my RRA though so it must be luck of the draw..
Because even after they do their "trigger job" they still have no idea what trigger pull will be, and can't guarantee it will be any good, could still be a couple pounds more than the RRA is from the factory, for the same price.
You would think so, but the spring has amazingly little to do with trigger pull.
I was told that they would do a trigger job, but still couldn't guarantee what the trigger pull would be, it could be #6 could #4 no one really knows.
