The CMMG .22 LR conversion unit is tested in a Smith & Wesson M&P-15 MOE with a Aimpoint 9000S red dot scope. Eighty rounds are fired using four different brands of ammo. Is this unit any good?

Twilight zone style
I have got to get one of these, would be great for squirrel and rabbit hunting.
Deadwood Dick? There's a pill for that.
Awesome into. Came in like a ghost sighting
grosssss ending
I've recently been thinking about getting one of these CMMG conversion kits since they are now less than $150. I'm so glad you have a video about them, you are one of the few You Tube channels I trust. I'd like to know what kind of magazines you are using. They look different than the ones that are currently offered by CMMG. I can't wait to try this conversion kit through my different uppers. I have 16" 1-7, 1-8, 1-9 and a 20" 1-9 twist rate. I also remember reading something about a more reliable charging handle, what's that about? Thanks again for all of your hard work producing outstanding videos! One more thing… would I be wise to close the adjustable gas block when using the conversion kits?
Hi Deadwood, that was a good informational video. I have been tossing the idea around for one of those kits for a good while . I think I will get one. Thankyou
Thanks for all your informative and fun to watch videos. This video led me into CMMG conversion shooting … I now have THREE of the units, all stainless.Β Your vids have saved me a lot of money!
Imagine running out of 556 ammo in a zombie apocalypse with a 22 conversion kit and a plethora of 22 rounds on hand. It would be a life saver.
once again you are my favorite gun guy always informative..thanks buddy love the videos..
So with that conversion kit, the bolt doesn't lock back on empty mag?
Just get a 15-22
I have a mil spec and have not had one miss fire or jam of any sort, I work in a gun store and I slide that cmmg kit in a lot of ar's tring to sell It and your commercial spec ar's i found the bolt to be really tight, some the mag won't even go in, expecially the m&p….just look at the hammer on that peice, compair to any other ar, I really recommend a Black Forge there out of Florida for a basic mil spec there the best I've seen for $500 best of the best LMT or Daniel defense
You might try a Anti-Jam Charging Handle. It might help with different ammo problems.
If you want to shoot .22lr these are good suggestions. GSG-5 or 522, Ruger 10-22, Marlin model 60. Don't use no gimmicks on your beloved AR-15 type rifle.Β Β If you truly love it and care for it's welfare. TheΒ AR-15 was born with a week gas system as it is. It don't need no little shit 1000 fps shit going through it. What is the point? Β Have fun and be safe.
Yes you read right. If you would like to shoot 22lr buy the .22lr version. Please don't consider fucking up your ar-15 with a conversion kit. Whats the point. This made shit out of my M&P OR ar-15. Went back to S&W for a new barrel and gas block. Learned my lesson. Buy a ruger 10-22! Good rifle.
I have a rebarreled dedicated upper in order to get the 1:16 rifling that I use on my M&P 15.
The ejection pattern is very telling. The CCI's has a grossly inconsistent ejection and hung up, as did the American Eagle. The Winchester was most consistent and he said he has the best luck with that. Federal was almost as consistent and he said he has mostly good luck with it.
3:29 I have more problems with mini-mags than any other 22 ammo, except Remington. Funny thing is that my advantage Arms Glock conversion eats remingtons the best and hates mini-mags. Federals do well in all my 22s I've owned.
Looks like Sedona area. High desert. Cool video. I have the Ciener conversion and it has allowed my daughter to be able to shoot my ar15 when she was 8 yrs of age. Β It has saved me quite a bit of money over the yrs. It looks exactly like yours does. I think maybe they are made by the same company or at the same place by the same people. Thanks for the video.
The question is how waxed up is your barrel now?
nice review , gonna get one for my core 15
Thanks for this. All the information I needed in one video.
BUY A MP 15-22!!!! You don't have to buy a conversion
I agree the win's are the way to go! I run win silver box subsonic with a can very nice!
Bob…I have the CMMG AR-15 Rimfire Alpha Conversion Kit. It costs about $200 at Brownells and it comes with one 26-round magazine.
Which CMMG conversion is it? I see three not including the complete uppers.
Thanks Jose. I will keep them coming as long as I have ammo.
You're welcome Fonz π
