  1. I've run this light for quite a while I practiced down the main hallway of my home no problems at all.
Actually I have one of these on my 19, 17,21 and my 29 that's how much I like the simplicity of this light.

  2. I just bought the TLR-1s.. first I've found this new one send to be in more a matt black finish compared to the one I've owned for about five years now.. the reason I went with the 300 lumen is than it goes on my duty weapon so longevity is worth more as I never know when I'll be stuck out in a search of any kind and I can't afford a dead light in short time the HL goes through it's batteries..

  3. As a professional photographer I know a lot about light. We never actually see an object, we only see the light being reflected off of it. A typical white wall in a home interior reflects 90 percent of the light hitting it. 800 lumens is A LOT OF LIGHT bouncing back at you in an average sized room! Think of water squirting out of your garden hose vs. a fire truck hose; the backsplash is significantly different. I honestly believe that when in comes to a light on the end of your pistol in the dead of night there is such a thing as "overkill".

  4. Awesome light will be perfect for glock 17 but it seems a little big for a glock 19. is it harder to conceal with this kinda light for a glock 19? was thinking about getting a xc1 ultra for the 19 since its a small enough fit that won't extend beyond the barrel

  5. This is a high quality tactical light. It is all-aluminum construction and is VERY bright. The strobe function works great. The red laser is bright enough to be seen in the day and with the flashlight/strobelight on. The battery life is excellent, especially when compared to a xenon light source. There is no high-pitched whine when the laser is on (unlike some cheaper tactical lights). It mounts VERY securely to a Picatinny rail with the included keys. I would recommend this product.

Just saw this on Amazon: Streamlight 69260 TLR-1 HL High Lumen Rail-Mounted Tactical Light by Streamlight http://amzn.to/2bvK5sg

  6. I totally hear ya about the lumens, but really man, you wake up to a bump in the night and you turn on a 800 lumen light you will be blinded. your eyes need to adjust, I hear ya for following your own philosophy, but physics is physics and your eyes have a hard time going from pitch black to really bright quickly.

  7. Does the 800 lumens hurt your own eyes when using inside a dark house because I wouldn't want to blind myself? And how did he get the HL model with stobe? I thought only the s model had strobe

  8. There should be a low lumen setting of 50. Just a handful of years ago, full sized lights were barely 90 to 110 lumens, and they will cause temporary night blindness if reflecting off of glass, white obstacles, etc. you really need to reevaluate your thought on this. If you were a Marine, and a tactical shooter, you'd understand that. The low lumen is for tactical, red light, situations, so as to not give your position away. Good review but I question that you were a Marine. I've been there, done that in the military, and can say from a tactical stand point, the low setting of 90 lumen is a bit high. Think about it.

  9. Question for the n00b light owner:
Bought a TLR-1 HL for my Glock 19 Gen3, and I normally pocket carry using a Sticky holster. I'm not opposed to IWB, but Talon grips against the skin isn't the most fun thing ever.
Anyway, if I'm wanting to carry my 19 with the light attached I'm going to need a new holster. If I can still pocket carry, that would be ideal. If not, so be it.

…What kind of holster do I need? I'm sure I have options, but the only thing I've ever seen is a paddle option LE uses. Concealed carry and paddles don't mix – at least not on me.
Any useful input would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  10. Love the aesthetics and ergonomics of the Inforce APL, but decided on the Streamlight TLR-1HL for a few reasons. 1. I have seen a good bit of reviews that have stated that the Polymer plastic has failed in some way…usually cracked. 2. No Strobe Function. 3. I don't like the screw on locking mechanism…wanted one with a quick connect and release. With all of this said, coupled with Surefires much higher price range, the Streamlight TLR-1 was the quality light at a decent price point I was looking for.
