Thank you for this video!
Very good video! Thank ya Sir
All milspec means is best you get from the cheapest bidder. Milspec doesn’t mean “good”.
Does CL affect reliability?
(və-NAY-dee-əm) just giving you sh*t 😂
I've learned to not use Hoppes 9 on chrome lined barrels.
Vendium? Is that anything like Vibranium? Is it strong than Adamantium? I'd like a barrel made of roast beef. Or perhaps a pasta and cheese alloy. Boy am I hungry.
Ordered a complete upper from PSA and it says Chromoly as tge steel type. Doesn't say if 4150, 4140, 416R etc. May be a dumb question, but can it just be considered Chromoly with no numbers? Thanks
THANKS!
And me with my 4140. Shoot Straight though. And that 69 grain bullet does a great job at 500. Thank you.
I'm going to build a 6.5 Grendel and trying to figure out which barrel length gives me the best velocity without loss due to over length on an AR platform with rifle gas system.
Great info this helps me out alot .did you have to replace many m4 barrels in the military
Anyone know who makes the best CHF SS melonited barrel?
Hope your still active, because I have been watching your videos like crazy. It is time to get my first build going. I have a complete anderson lower, PSA BCG and Anderson receiver. I need a barrel $150-250. What would you get? I like the way stainless looks so I am a little biased but stainless is not a must. HELP! What barrel should I get?
I've watched several of this guy's videos and I have to say that I am not impressed with the way his information is presented at all. It seems like you have to already know pretty much everything he's talking about in order to understand him. His teaching fundamentals are scattered, it sounds like there was no planning in our presentation, and frankly, he's got way too much "personal preference" tainting the info to help someone objectively make up their mind.
I feel so enlightened. I'm taking notes on everything you say and doing the same with other videos on this same subject….the internet is cool.
Don't forget NOVESKE, their ar barrels are made of the same steel as the SAW machine gun steel with double thickness chrome lining as specified by the military. Their barrels are very resistant to any melt down barrel trauma.
What's a stinger?
Hey could y’all help me pick out a barrel 11.5 inch for my SBR want a close to CRANE spec gas port accurate and good bang for buck any recommendations?
I just recently found your page and have enjoyed your videos. I find you to be very thorough and professional so I've taken your reviews to heart and now that I see you're a Braves fan I take your words as the gospel haha! I flew out there for Chipper's final homestand and retirement ceremony. Have a good day and keep up the great videos!
What is a "stinger" in regards to shooting a stainless steel barrel in cold weather?
You should have been a school teacher. You're good at it.
Are CHF barrels inherently more accurate than button cut, assuming they are both MilSpec steel an CL?
11595E Certified Steel ? * http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-BFH-16-Mid-Length-Barrel-Stripped-p/bcm-brl-s-mid-16%20bfh.htm
Mil-Spec Barrel Steel
(Mil-B-11595E)
BCM
barrel steel is Mil-Spec per MIL-B-11595E. This grade (CMV) of steel is a
Mil-Spec steel used in the USGI M16 family of rifles; it is stronger and will
last longer than the typical barrels offered in the commercial market. The
Mil-Spec grade steel gets its’ additional strength and rigidity from an
increase in carbon and/or vanadium in the alloy. This will offer increased
barrel life and performance through use in all types of extreme environments
and temperatures.
This was very informative.
Ruger 556 rifle has a 4140 CHF barrel.
Va-na-dium!
can you use clp in the bore of 416r stainless barrels or is that not recommended
Ruger ar556 and i believe mini14 have hammer forged 4140
Can they chrome line the chamber and melonite the bore? Im thinking that might be sorta a good compromise, other then added cost of corse. If anyone else knows enough on the subject I would appreciate their input. Thanks
I'm so happy you complimented Rainier Arms about their stainless barrels!!
I have their supermatch or ultramatch fluted 14.5 on my Spikes and it shoots well. The fluting is seriously heavy, like a pound of material was removed.
I welded the extended VG6 Gamma brake on it.
This was very informative bro! Much appreciated.
Thanks for the video. It was very helpful. Are there any books on what the normal barrel life of different barrels are. Are there any AR barrels that are cryogenically treated?
stainless for sbr?
So people know, I was told by Mike Chandler at Sig Sauer the 516's and standard M400's are 4140 CHF Nitride Treated Barrels made in house by Sig.
I'm about to build a 16 inch recce and I wanted to try something different so in goo g to stay away from bartlein, white oak and Krieger. What do you thunk about faxons 16 in flame fluted stainless melononite barrel? I saw you had a review with it but would you choose it for that application? Thanks.
Boring us? I could not disagree more. This is clear and concise information.
Thanks for the useful info.
Are you out of ATL?
Moly Bendi Um? Mo-lib-denum. 🙂
molybdenum is pronounced MUH-LIB-DUH-NUM
I love moly-bendy-um!
thanks for the info it really help I'm working on a build CHF will be my choice #My1stAr15 lol
