  1. The ar15 is not a "rapid fire" weapon, it is semi automatic, an over 100 year old technology, and the m4 and m16 aren't based on the ar15, the ar15 is a civilian variant of the M4 because it does not feature select fire or a burst feature like the M16.

  2. Guns don’t kill people, people kill people. The AR-15 is an amazing weapon and used properly and safely by a SANE person is a great tool for self defense, hunting, and just for fun, I’m tired of people trying to get this firearm banned.

  3. And the first repeating rifle was in fact an Air Rifle made in Austria and fascinated Thomas Jefferson.

Also the wounding study linked in the description is flawed. It is comparing a handgun barrel length to a rifle barrel length. A more accurate comparison would be a 9mm AR and a 5.56mm AR with the same length of barrel. And compare similar bullet types. So if the 5.56mm is FMJ then the 9mm needs to be FMJ as well. As it stands they are comparing 5.56 FMJ to 9mm JHP which skews the results as the 9mm transfers energy into the target more effectively.

But oh wait… They don't care about accuracy as it wouldn't support their narrative as much as the current study does.

Oh and the .223 Remington Cartridge was originally designed for varmint hunting. The 5.56 actually seen only slightly more power to make it a bit better in the role of wounding a smaller game animal, but that is what combat is about. That is wounding opposing soldiers enough to take them out of the battle.

And the Upper and Lower Receivers are two distinct and specific parts of the rifle.

Finally (hopefully), the AR-15 wasn't even part of the military's search. It was offered to them after the fact. And there is consistent terms for all firearms. The issue is Anti-Gunners and the uninformed don't know the terminology and refuse to actually learn it. Typically because of a High-and-Mighty Holier-than-thou-are mentality that they seem to all share.
