  1. Just picked up the streamlight hl-x. Love it. I also use a streamlight pistol mounted light, I believe it’s 400-500 lumens, have to check, but both are great lights for the price. Haven’t used surefire because I think they are too expensive. If I got into more gunfights (average 2-3 a month) I might consider the surefire, but the streamlights work fine for me and have plenty of output.

  2. I just got the streamlight flashlight with 1000 lumens mounted on my scattergun. It throws farther than buckshot is effective. Surefire??? Sorry but a flashlight is not worth the price of a handgun. Well, ok, im not sorry. Opticsplanet has a nice mount for a shotgun made by streamlight. Its plastic but tuff. 20-25ish. Also look on workboots.com for 2 pack streamlight 18650's. Best price in aug. 2018. 22.sumthin. stream light is NFA.

  3. I use Strreamlights at work. I have 3 rechargeable Stingers, 1 old one, and 2 led models. I've dropped them more times than I can remember, the oldest one is 10 years old. They just keep going and going. This video just helped me make my decision for my AR.

  4. i just cant spend $400 for a flashlight, sorry but i can buy a new gun for that. if i was military or swat then yeah maybe, but just average joe me cant do it,a flashlight and red dot cost more then my AR did?

  5. I would love to see a video detailing the operation of an AR-15 and Glock, in and out of water.

I heard a recommendation that you should crack the bolt open to let the water drain out then slam it closed with forward assist. It seems logical, I wonder if there is a better way to do it or other considerations to be aware of.

Any information on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  6. John, have you checked out the Fenix TK15UE?
I purchased and, although it is large for an edc, it is a great size for rifle. It boasts a thousand lumen, thumb switch, memory, etc.

  7. I believe you're confusing lumens and lux. Lumens don't change based on where the light is measured. Lumens is total output of the light, spill and spot combined at the source. Lux would be the different brightness in the center vs the spill over distance. however, even with lumens, every manufacturer has different methods to derive a number.

  8. I have had a Surefire go bad on me during regular training back in the mid 2000's I switched to Streamlight and haven't had any issues, I did have a tail cap go bad on me with the SL stinger led DS hand held light so I guess both Surefire and Streamlight can have issues, I run a pro tac rail mount II on my Colt M4 LE6920 and the TLR1 HL on my Glock. When I get rich enough for NOD's I will be getting the surefire Scout 600M for night training to go on my new rifle build.

  9. I think that Surefire is the #1 most over priced, over hyped and the most "under" performing for the cost flashlights on the market today!!! If you have deep pockets and have to have a the over priced Surefire name on your weapon, then enjoy!

  10. I’m pickin Up a pro tac soon you cants beat it 1/3 the price of a surefire and it comes with the mount, pressure switch, and pressure switch mount plus zip ties ect it’s a can’t beat package for the price
