Here’s a video for the folks new to red dot optics. This video focuses on the EOTech optics but the principles apply to all red dots. If you have an Aimpoint optic please refer to my video focused on those as well.

Good video but would have been good to mention MOA and how each click on the EOTech moves at different distances. Quick to explain, quick to pick up and easy to use in the field.
Very professional channel. Sub and thumb up!
Just installed my EOTech EXPS2-0 on my Sig MPX 9mm carbine, and I can’t wait to get to the range.
BTW, your vid was an invaluable resource. Danké
Zero at 36 yds. That will also be zero'ed at 300 yds. Hold center of chest out to 400yds.
Keeping in mind that if you smoke a bad guy at 300yds you are going to prison for murder.
Self defense does not happen at 300yds. So Close range work is where we live. Unless the whole "zombie apocalypse" thing goes down. Then it's all up for grabs. JMO.
hey i have those boots. are you an ex marin?
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO IF YOU-TUBE CANCELS YOUR SHOW?
Point of aim vs. Point of impact?
I''m looking at the EXPS2-2 and I am planning on running a magnifier with it. I was wondering with the 2 Mil dots if I could use different zeroing distances. Instead of the 50/200 and 500yd Mil Dots I would want something that it like 25/200 and 100yd.
HAHAHA! So get this. The "techs" installed my adjustment knobs after i sent it in, backwards. Turning it right moves the dot left, and instead of down it moves it up…..this was the second time i sent it in for delamination.
Thanks for the how to, I just got my first 512.will it absolute co-witness with the a2 front sight? I've never really used a scope or anything I have a Glock 21 with a Burris fast fire but my friend set it for me
The holographic sight gives the shooter the advantage and knowledge that if the crosshairs are on the intended target the bullets will go there, even if shooting from less than ideal positions.
This is what i am curious about, if you have a rail on it like a keymod or somthing like that is it bad to mount the EOtech between the upper receiver and the rail? I don't know if that part of the rail has any flex to it or will throw you off, kinda hard to explain.
These things are VERY easy to sight. Got a 512 and 50m took about 5-6 shots. 100 was kind of easy but all shots in the circle at least. But its the magnifier that got me. How on earth do I get the 3x magnifier optic to hold? Got it zeroed well to 150 and then tossed it in the bag. Friction on the wheels moved the sights around.
I've heard from a marine that I might want to remove my rear iron sight so I can move the holographic all the way to the rear. I noticed you left your iron sights on like I have, any thoughts on removing the rear sight? I'd rather not, personally.
UNC Charlotte 🙂
those reticals with range dots going to 600 yards what is the initial zero 2 or 300?
Just got my first AR and just ordered an EOTech 517. Thanks for the info.
you look like Johnny Sins
Would resting your barrel on whatever steadying platform you're using affect the zeroing of the optic?
Holy Shit its Pulse from Rainbow Six Siege.
Would you still run a EOTECH after all the lawsuit issues ? Is there really a severe issue with the product ? I am sure plenty of animals, and bad guys have hit the dust with a EOTECH optic…
When you change the battery do you have to re zero?
I had a hell of a time sighting mine in a few days ago, but I did go to school in Tennessee so I will blame it on my public education.
Ok let's practice counting to 6 together shall we?1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 6, 6Ok nevermind. I was sure there were EIGHT clicks and not six but you're right. 1,2,3,4,5,6,6,6,. Yup Six. Nevermind. My bad.
Enjoy your videos as always. Advice? Should I return my Eotech 512 which I haven't had any issues with by way of their refund program, and buy an Aimpoint?
good video, but i did something a little different with mine. before i even bought it i called EoTech and talked to one of their reps. they told me to not make any adjustments at all, and just put it on the rifle, they said it should be pretty close out of the box. well they were not lying the elevation was dead on and the windage was only off by 5 clicks to the left. i recommend not making any adjustments at all until u have shot 2-5 rds down range to see where it is already. but thats just my opinion. nice vid and take it easy
What was the distance to your target?
