  1. Love mine but don’t take the hearing pro off that’s so stupid! 85 dB: The threshold where prolonged exposure (e.g., 8 hours per day) can cause gradual hearing loss, according to OSHA and NIOSH standards.
    • 90 dB: Risk of damage after about 2 hours of exposure.
    • 100 dB: Damage possible after about 15 minutes.
    • 120 dB: Immediate risk of hearing damage, even with brief exposure.
    • 130 dB and above: Pain threshold; immediate damage likely, even for very short exposures (e.g., gunshots, including suppressed ones like the HuxWrx Flow 556 Ti at ~130–135 dB).
For context, the suppressed shots from the HuxWrx Flow 556 Ti (estimated at 130–135 dB in the video) are well above the safe threshold, posing an immediate risk of hearing damage without ear protection. Ear protection (e.g., earplugs or earmuffs rated for 25–33 dB noise reduction) is essential when shooting, even with suppressors.
