PSA AR-V 9mm Control Upgrades: Breek Arms Warhammer & CMMG Muzzle Timing (Part 4)

Today, we move into Part 4 of our Palmetto State Armory AR-V 8″ 9mm PCC project series, focusing on muzzle performance and external control manipulation. We begin by breaking down the upper receiver, removing the M-LOK handguard, and utilizing our bench vise with soft aluminum barrel jaws to safely secure the platform under torque. We remove the factory flash hider and prep the barrel threads using non-chlorinated CRC Brakleen to clear away factory oil and debris.
To ensure precise alignment of our new CMMG Zero Linear Compensator, we discard standard crush washers in favor of an AccuWasher Gen2 precision shim kit. We are keeping these threads clean without permanent thread locker to allow for potential future barrel optimization. We torque the muzzle device to factory specification using a 1/2″ torque wrench and a Wheeler crowfoot adapter.
Moving back to the bench mat, we completely reassemble the handguard, demonstrating a critical bench tip on utilizing a Picatinny wire routing clip to bridge the handguard and upper receiver rails for perfect alignment before locking them down. Finally, we upgrade the factory charging handle to the Breek Arms Warhammer Mod2 ambidextrous charging handle, featuring aggressive micro-latches designed for rapid malfunction clearance.
