I love mid lengths. I have several of them. I have no idea why the government stuck with the carbine length gas system? The mid length gas tube is so much nicer. The extra hand guard length is a bonus. Paired with an A5 buffer tube, A5H2 buffer and a Sprinco 308 spring is chef's kiss 😉 Just a soft smooth shooting handy carbine.
I'd personally put a Brownells 4x scope on it, along with a CAR stock, and then the rifle is good to go.
I'm not a neo-fudd, and will never be one. But I do have a soft spot for simple basic retro rifles all the same. CMMG should do a re-run of those, though.
If I put a light on it, probably something as small as possible, crazy as it sounds. With a heavily modified mount.
Once it is zero'd, it is good to go. This is an A2 in a bikini. AKA a truck rifle. And it's a beauty.
