Bear in mind they are doing little against Federal laws. They are attacking state laws regularly. Half a loaf, I know, but could go further. I suppose Mark Smith is right, you couldn't bomb Tokyo on Dec 8, 1941. You had to island hop, with smaller victories advancing in increments.

There are traditionally 2 parts to law enforcement in the U.S. First is to discover/identify the crime, and second, to arrest and prosecute the criminal(s) that committed that crime.
This 'celebration' is merely part one of the DOJ actually recognizing and intervening in a crime that has been going on since 1968 (and longer). At what point do they EVER get to part 2, the arrest and prosecution of these government Criminals? Why are we 'celebrating' the fact that the DOJ is only now just halfheartedly beginning to do their JOB, after half a Century? Why haven't they prosecuted any of the legislative criminals that brought all this into being in the 1st place?
I will celebrate when we see CONVICTIONS for these crimes against the Bill of Rights. Considering the number of government agencies, Federal And State, that are complicit in these crimes, I would venture to say….they Never will!

We are the Militia, and when the Second Amendment was written (18th Century), "well regulated" meant "well trained and equipped," not controlled.

The operative clause,

the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. The militia clause merely states one important justification for protecting a broader, pre-existing individual right.

Got my hopes up for just a brief moment thinking he was going to say that it was Colorado's new garbage law about to begin on the first of August…….oh well. It'll probably keep squeaking by since the guns are not completely banned, just restricted behind a paywall. Same magazine ban of 15 rounds or less is also a thing but of course the Supreme Court might actually get that one taken care of but I'll believe it when it actually happens. If the federal government says it's OK but the state says that it's not, it'll take the feds coming in and forcing it to happen, otherwise nothing will.

Good presentation! This is an amazing turn of events. The only downside I see in this filing is the phrasing used specifies protection of 30 round and less magazines. In my opinion it should have read something like "all semi-automatic firearm magazines regardless of capacity". One might ask if magazines such as the Magpul D60 can still be banned in the Territory of the Virgin Islands. Hopefully the DOJ will correct this error and hopefully this trend continues.

Hope you & family are all well. We here in Massachusetts know that this State will NOT follow ANY "Undoing" of firearms bans no matter what the U.S. Supreme Court says and you know it Jared.

The Glock bans need to be struck down as well.

Why are there a class of protected arms? Wouldn't that be like a class of protected religions, or a protected class of writings/ books? The founders didn't restrict The People from carrying any class of arms, did they?

Police have qualified immunity and officer discretion it should be used to refuse to enforce unconstitutional laws.

The ONLY thing that the politacritters votes on "gun control" should accomplish is showing the people which of those politacritters need removed and charged with crimes against the people. Im originally from California i love my state however i had to move away bc these politicians are ruining it. My guns were confiscated due to false claims of DV with no firearm being involved at all. The case was stopped by the plantiff bc she proved herself a liar in the issue. Sheriff dept recently called me stating they are destroying my firearms bc they are Assault weapons ar15 and glock in a roni chassis. All bought within the state legally and registered there as well. If i knew who to contact to throw my case in the ring. Now i live in Nevada and replaced everything taken and then some x3. But im still pissed about this and want to fight it. Even though its about principle not cost im not sure how to proceed. Im glad this is happening bc im sick of the infringement and i want my firearms back, replaced or compensated. It pisses me off bc i fought in 4 campaigns for this country and this is what how im treated. Ive proven i protect not terrorize and im still get treated unjustly… if i were a lesser man id be disenfranchised. Do better blue states do better.

Why talk about a 30 round limit? Seems like there should not be a limit… belt feds? 50 round mags? 100 round magazines? They all exist in significant volumes already… if it is in common use, it cannot be banned…

Sometimes it’s just hard to believe what is said until it’s been done. It feels like the government dangles a carrot in front of us. And just keeps shaking it in front of us as they move the goal line forward.
