I Tried the Cheapest Complete AR15 I Could Find (here's what happened)

This week we’re testing one of the cheapest AR-15s we could find: the Bear Creek Arsenal BC-15. With prices dipping close to $300, we wanted to find out if it’s actually usable or if the internet was right all along. After several hundred rounds, accuracy testing, and plenty of range time, here’s our honest first impression of one of the most budget-friendly AR-15s on the market. We discuss who it’s for, and where it stacks up to other comparable options on the market, like the PSA Blem rifles or the Radical Firearms 5.56

***SAFETY DISCLAIMER***
Prior to EVERY video, weapons are checks and cleared, even if you do not see it in the video. A lot of times, it may appear as though firearms are being pointed at heads or arms or bodies and this is often due to the camera angle at which the videos are filmed. If anyone would like to discuss firearms safety my instagram DMs are ALWAYS open if you would like to discuss or learn more about what we do.

  1. 8:25 Majority of your heat is from friction…. 1:8 cuts back on that some, compared to 1:7…. Don't believe me?? get a VERY tight patch or tight bore brush and work the barrel like it's Bonnie Blue…. She'll get toasty faster than you think, JUST from that…

  2. 4:20 1:8 is THE correct twist rate for a 5.56/223 16" or longer….. THE longest projo that can fit in a 5.56 case, WITH the ogive above the case mouth, AND still fit in an AR mag is 1.125" long…. 1:8 stabilizes that perfectly. Too much spin, and you lose jackets and get fliers from projectile flaws being highlighted by the higher RPMs(think out of balance tire or washing machine)…. This isn't theoretical, I have photos…. I've lost jackets in a 1:7 at 2650 FPS…. Per 100% of ALL major bullet manufactures(yes, I talked to ALL of them after I found this problem), Jackets are ONLY supposed to stand up to a max of 300,000 RPM, some said as low as 270,000… For the math impaired:
    [MV*720/(inches per rotation)]=RPM and [RPM*(inches per rotation)/720]=MV

300,000RPM X 7" per rotation= 2,100,000 2,100,000/720= 2916.67 FPS is the MAX velocity that ANY cup and core bullet in ANY caliber/cartridge(not just 5.56) is supposed to hold together in a 1:7 twist barrel. Again, I have pictures of popular match bullets coming apart at 2650 FPS in a 1:7… The manufacturer said it was normal…

    1:8 twist raises the max MV to 3,333.33 FPS…. at 2916FPS a 1:8 twist ONLY has 262,440 RPM…. 37,560 less than a 1:7…

  3. OHHHHH There are ABSOLUTELY cheaper options than BCA out there…. You should go on a mission to find THE ABSOLUTE cheapest, NO NAME, mostly not even metal, 5.56 ghetto blaster…. I mean like "goin HOGGIN in a back alley dive bar" kind of nasty el cheapo garbage rod that you're not even fully sure it's safe to shoot brand new, and makes pitted Mosins look like Custom F-class rigs…. ALSO… BUILDING for the cheapest is fair game, it's just got to be apples to apples, sights/optics are either absent or the EXACT same for every competitor gat, and none of this

"EeEerm WWeeeeLLL I own a 3d printer and my uncle has a CNC mill and my buddy has a lathe so technically we can build for cost of materials, and oh BTW we've had the materials sitting around for years so TECHNICALLY we can build for free."….

Either the average po-boi can legitimately buy it or legitimately build it from bought parts….

  4. Come on now!!! Haha you BARELY put a few mags through it!! Unless there's 500 plus rounds through it, there's no reason to make a video. These are known to blow apart before 500 rounds, I think most of us find it hard to believe you didn't have ANY malfunctions or hiccups Lol

  5. I have the same upper paired with a psa lower and this my first AR. I only have about 600 to 700 rounds in mine but definitely do a 5k review. The only thing I have changed is the charging handle, buffer spring and trigger. Love the way mine shoots

  6. I wanna see you guys try the warscorp warp-15. It uses a WWSD polymer lower(so not the typical dogwater polymer lower) and a unique polymer clamshell upper. It's like 399 beans.

  7. Long term review of putting the gun though its paces is a good idea. Sparky I noticed your sidearm Hammer was in the cocked position I have seen over the years of accidental discharges. Just trying to save you from accidentally shooting yourself in the leg. Good video

  8. Yes, a long-term review would be nice. I have a couple of uppers but have relegated them to the safe because I had some doubts about BCA after some of my first dealings with the company (sent me a barrel sans slide and a .22 upper that wouldn't fire). It would be nice to know they will work if needed. I test fired them but that was it.

  9. Had a few of these like years ago and the issue wasn't so much the parts it was the QC and assembly but if you know how to fix that its a cheap entry gun..but I was never really happy with any of them when sent after I tightened the gas bock and tightened hand guard just stuff that wasn't correct they ran ok ..but once you know how to do all that you can buy parts on sale and build a solid gun for 500$ thats way way better ..just is what it is

  10. I GOTTA ask………is Elliot Delp the same guy that does the "World War wisdom" channel on YouTube???……. online alias "jacob"??….I subscribe to both channels and I swear its the same dude … anyone??

  11. These currently go for $420. I've never them for $320(?) I have a few BCA rifles and uppers…. They have all been good. Yes the muzzle device is terrible, I ordered an A2 upper that was supposed to have an A2 birdcage, but came with their device. They have a troll somewhere on site that installs them…. They are TIGHT AF!

  12. The stock is taking its queues from the CAR stock. The grip, A1. Consider a 5K test with accuracy checks at 1K, 2.5K, and 5K. But, clean the rifle regularly at least to some minimum. In other words, not an abuse test. Be interested in how the BCG holds up. Before testing, if you have the caliper, consider measuring the BCG to see if within spec. Measure the buffer spring length as well. It would be interesting to see the wear on the BCG through the testing as well. If you do it, look forward to it.

  13. So, my use for a BCA rifle is this. I have various 556 pistols and rifles that I bet my life on. I’m grabbing them in a SHTF scenario. But I really like the 6.5 Grendel round. I use it to hunt sometimes. For pigs usually when you went something semi auto instead of a bolt gun so instead of spending $400 or more on an upper in 6.5, I bought a whole 6.5 rifle for $400 from BCA with an 18” barrel and it’s really accurate. I’ll shoot a few rounds out of it to make sure it’s still zeroed and a few rounds if I come across a group of pigs here in TX. So I don’t really worry about it being a go to war or competition quality rifle. It’s perfect for what I use it for.
