  1. Springfield Armory was the "Saint" AR (not Ruger). And I have yet to see one actually consistently achieve under 1 MOA, much less 1/3.
For a while at release, they were having trouble even shipping them with gas tubes pinned in the gas blocks…

  2. Government contour exists because less metal dissipates heat faster than more metal. And to that point as he said, the majority of the heat happens at the beginning of the barrel. Hence why military rifles are government contour. They are made for continuous fire not accuracy.

  3. This is an awesome video with awesome video. Much appreciated!

Just curious how they would remove a barrel from and upper that has been loctited in. Seems to be the best for accuracy but I’m also wondering if there is a good way to change the barrel and reuse the upper if needed

  4. Not sure how I missed this video.
I build 308 ARs not small frames which requirea bit more tuning but i guess its all legos big or small. Criterion has proven to be a manufactur that builds a sub 400 dollar barrel that shoots like an 800 dollar barrel with factor chamber dimension options…. Super pleased to see criterion behind the scenes and get a tutorial on legos. THANKS

  5. Awesome video! Note that for gas block screws if you're going to use blue loctite go with 246 it's a higher temp rating than 242 and it's oil resistant (in case threads aren't pristine when applying). You could also use rocksett as Mike mentioned, I prefer both of these options over the red 272 loctite

  6. I’ve learned a lot from this on building my next gun and how to do my part to try to make it accurate. Because I built my rifle and the video I watched simply showed you how to put it together. Nothing on all of these nuances for accuracy. I’ll be rebuilding my rifles per their recommendations.

  7. I have a saint victor 556. When I shoot 556 ammo it shoots wildly inaccurate. Like 6 inch groups at 50 yards. When I use 223 ammo is shoots decent like 1-1.5 at 50 yards. Any idea what would cause this? It seems really weird but the gun is almost unusable with 556 ammo

  8. I've heard conflicting reports from different people, all who seem like they know what they're talking about. My problem is with the blue loctite on the gas port screws. Looking at the technical data sheet on blue loctite, it says it's only good up to 300°F. Now I'm not saying this guy doesn't know what he's talking about, he's build way more rifles than me, but I've heard from other gunsmiths (thinking of School of the american rifle) to skip the blue, reliquifies at gas block temps, use rocksett because it's good up to 2000°F. Anyone who really knows what they're talking about, what am I missing? How does 300° blue make sense on one of the hottest parts of a rifle? I'm looking to learn

  9. just watching this now in 2024. when the said 4moa accuracy for the military back in the day, i smiled. At work we carry DD 16in rifles. The accuracy "standard" before saying a barrel is shot out is 6in group at 100yrds. which makes me laugh. I mean that is talking about a worn out barrel but still. My rifle has thousands of rounds through it. I am probably the 2nd person to carry this weapon. We shoot 1000 rounds a year after initial training. I have shot about 2500rounds since i received the rifle. When sighting in the iron sights the instructor said, "you couldnt get a better group unless i gave you match grade".
