This week the Senate Finance Committee and the Senate Committee on Taxation will be considering extreme gun control proposals that will severely impede your Second Amendment rights.
On Tuesday April 27, the Senate Finance Committee will hear SF 3655, banning the possession of commonly owned semi-automatic firearms and limiting magazine capacity. In addition to the existing language, this bill will act as a vehicle for other extreme gun control proposals. At this time, the amendments are not available, but it may include proposals considered earlier this year such as, a repeal of firearm preemption laws, bans on homebuilt firearms, expansion of gun free zones, and red flag expansions. Please use the Take Action button below to contact the committee members and request they vote NO on SF 3655.
On Wednesday and Thursday, The Senate Committee on Taxation will consider SF 5052, the Senate Omnibus Tax Bill. This legislation includes Governor Walz supplemental budget bill that imposes a punitive tax on firearms and ammunition. Additionally, your NRA is continuing to monitor expanded attacks on your rights through the state budget and any proposed amendments to SF 5052.
