This week, the Connecticut House voted to advance Governor Lamont’s H5043 – a proposal banning the future manufacture, sale, and importation of many commonly owned handguns in Connecticut. The bill also further restricts unfinished frames and receivers.
The vote landed at 86-64 with 15 Democrats joining the Republicans in opposition. Their break from caucus underscores the very real problems and consequences of the bill.
H5043 now heads to the Senate. With some Democrats having already opposed the bill, NRA members and 2nd Amendment supporters are encouraged to continue contacting members of the Senate and insist they vote “No” on H5043 now more than ever.
