The EOTech XPS2 has earned its reputation—rugged, proven, and fast. But the .300 Blackout reticle version? That’s where the real conversation starts.
In this video, I give you a two-for-one review: the XPS2 as an optic and the reality of the 300 BLK two-dot reticle after running it on real setups. If you’re considering this for a Rattler, PDW, home defense, or a truck/bag gun, there are a few things you’ll want to know before spending the money.
We cover:
Why the XPS2 is still one of the most trusted holographic sights
The real-world downsides (battery life, no shake-awake, button placement with magnifiers)
The “gotcha” most people miss: how the 300 BLK reticle was calibrated
What happened when I tested supers vs subs across different barrel lengths
What I’d buy instead (and why) for a smarter 300 Blackout optic setup
At Ragnarok Concepts, the goal is simple: responsible 2A education, family safety, and honest gear reviews that help you make smart purchasing decisions—no hype, no paid opinions. If this review saves you from buying the wrong reticle (or confirms it’s right for your use), it did its job.
Drop your setup in the comments: Are you running supers, subs, or both—and what barrel length?

If you guys think I should do a long term in depth review of my Sig Rattler LT let me know in the comments below!
Maybe a dumb question, but could you zero the top dot for your supers, then zero your bottom dot for subs. Then use whichever dot for the ammo you are shooting?
So best to go
With the EOTECH EXPS3 then?
I respect your impartial review. I own similar setup except MCX Spear platform. Had similar discovery when running usual drills. I may handload this in the future.
Very helpful. Going for my first sight for a rattler and you saved me. Thanks!
I'm wouldn’t be interested adding a magnifier to my 300 blackout since I purchase it mostly for close quarter combat if SHTF, the chances of having to hit a target pass 100 yards in South Florida would be extremely unusual.
I'd be curious to know more about the results you saw when zeroing/testing. When you zeroed your 110gr supers at 100yds, where did your 220gr subs land at 50yds?
Just because it doesn’t have a nv button don’t mean it’s not compatible, nv button just instantly dims to nv level
Wtf 😆 🤣 😂
I have a 16" 300 blk ar from before braces were really a thing. Is is such a good shooter that it will remain a 16" until the barrel gets shot out. I have a few loads that really benefit from the added velocity and I can tell a huge difference in the bullets performance when deer hunting compared to my 7.5" 300blk. With that said, it is silly that a BDC would be set up for 16", same with advertised velocity of ammo being 16" barrels.
I own a rattler chambered in 556 and an entire rattler upper for 300 blackout, so I’m guessing that the EOTech I bought from EBay for $18 isn’t real but I had to compare 😂 but thank you for the breakdown
16 inch 300 Blackout barrel makes a great hog gun! 😊❤❤❤
I think that was made before the pistol brace. !6'' 300 black was a thing for a the first few years but that has been over for a many years now.
