Bear creak 😂😂
Hay straighten out that gas block or get a strike inds one and I bet that upper cycles .
Ive used multiple BCA uppers. Use montana ar 15 uppers.
I dont really expect any of them to last for ever or best and greatest accuracy. Currently running a 10.5 Montana ar upper and a Montana ar 16 upper. Plus a Anderson upper.
Disclaimer I have 3 now because just got back into guns in the last 8 months after selling all my guns off in 2020 from a bad divorce.
Bear creek is the worst in the game period
ACI AR-15 ARE THE BEST BUDGET RIFLE AT $379 RIGHT NOW AT SPORTSMAN'S OUTDOOR SUPERSTORE!
Radical Firearms RF-15.
Nope. Lost me at bear creek. That should never be in any convo. Sorry. Im out.
Honestly this gave me a good idea at the difference between the Radical and the PSA.
But your selection of the side charger on the BCA isn't really fair comparison. The systems are just too different to compare equally. If anything… you just put a data point in the hypothesis:
"traditional ar style charging appears to be more clean and reliable and possible more accurate than an open reciprocating side charging design."
Which id fully agree with. But you really should have standardized the uppers more.
I have only a sample size of one. As I've only ever had a BCA and a PSA at the same time once. Never had a radical but im lookin.
But in that instance they were both chambered for the same round same barrel length and same charging method. And in that scenario, as far as accuracy goes, the BCA actually beat the piss out the PSA. The psa was pretty consistently shooting 1.75" with me behind the wheel. Which is honestly fine (I'm usually an AK guy so 2 to 2.5 moaning is about what im use to)
The BCA … maybe it was a miracle build or something… but honestly I almost had to try to get over MOA (or 1moa however you say 1" at 100y)
Was a little more gassy and a little more rough than my buddies BCM based build that cost well over double.
But as far as laying down shot groups at 100. We both were hitting under MOA with both rifles pretty consistently off a bench and rest.
I ended up selling the BCA but I often wish I would have kept it to see if it stayed as accurate as the action smoothed out. Couldn't shoot it enough and ammo was as sparce as dollars in my wallet (Biden era) so I liquidated the poor girl.
I will certainly be trying BCA uppers again. But I think my next delve into ARs will be in the form of a Radical or a DelTon (which are supposedly slightly more gooder than bca)
I have a 16 inch Bear Creek at 100 yd and shoots a 1 1/4 Moa but it is a rear charging
Hello. You appear to have a rare trait on your hands. I wonder if you know.
It's called single traversal palmer crease. That's a science name. There's other names. It's definitely on your right. I think it's on you left as well. I believe it's good
PSA all the way. Jist as good as all the 1000 plus dollars rifles ive tried them all and have seen more of them come back then PSA
Iv have a few high end ARS and couple of bca they all shoot very well, accuracy is very good, i put a sharps riffle bcg in the bca now trust it like my Daniel defense, shoots better than Daniel defense
I think the lesson here is you can build a first AR for under 500 that shoots. After a few thousand rounds, you can build your lifesaver for under a 1000 & have a backup or shower gun 😂
U should do a M203 Grenade launcher build
Bear Creek Arsenal.
Do you think that the gas block on the PSA may have something to do with the accuracy? I ask that because if the gas block is that close to the hand guard, there's a good chance that it strikes the hand guard when it's fired. I know that a 16" barrel topically oscillates more that the thickness of a sheet of paper which leads me to believe it must have come in contact with the upper thus affecting the harmonics of the barrel. Just my two. I'd love to see you do another accuracy comparison after having aligned the gas block if you'd be willing to do so.
I think the issues is consistency i ha e 2 of those uppers one is very accurate..radical …bear creek i have 7.5 300 blk out its accurate but i have buddies not same experience
Bro don’t like using the letter S
I have a bca .223 wylde upper sitting on a psa lower and get 1.5 inch groups . Ammo is everything with theses guns. It might shoot great with one kind and not even close with another that gets frustrating. Even my Dpms shoots pretty accurate groups. Good video
I generally build my lowers from stripped lowers and buy complete uppers from reputable makers as I'm really not equipped for installing barrels on upper receivers.
Big fan of BCA. They have deals where you can get an upper for $189
Bca upper is so thick because it's billet receiver
Aero Precision FTW! Someone already mentioned them but I always advise everyone budget hunting not to do it save the extra 200-300 on an upper for Aero. Plus they just offered 30% off for black friday so you could probbaly even get it similiar price. The fit and finish is some of the best even compared to what ive seen twice as expensive.
I like diamondback db15 as well. You can pick them up for around the same price as the 3 you mentioned.
Great informative video 🫡✊🏾💪🏾💯… I have a few bca and psa uppers..so far so good..
Great content! Y'all stay safe and keep shooting 🤙
Not super budget but good enough I'd trust my life with is my aero precision atlas r-one upper there a few hundred dollar upper but have very nice quality for there price
bear creek is fine as a range toy and maybe a hunting rifle with their 350 legend upper but i definitely wouldnt trust anything from them for something serious
I have you know, my Daniel Defense was only 2100 lmao 😅
That’s the PSA upper I got on sale with bcg & CH, for $280
More Joe videos please!
Come for the content, stay for the outro…
Great breakdown, Joe! I think I’d stay clear of the side charging model, because of its PITA takedown. Other than that, they all seem to be solid choices as far as shooting.
Edit: Also I liked the chaos at the end. 😂🐊
Hey!!! It's joe!! ❤
Was that a shart or a fart?
👍👍
Definitely interesting content, this is really helpful for a bunch of us. Thanks!
Good topic, price is unfortunately an important aspect in the decision of what to buy.
