THE BEST UPGRADE FOR YOUR AR15 | Leitner Wise BCG

My link tree for big savings on awesome gear:

Today we take a look at the AR15 Long Advance Bolt Carrier – Expanding Gas System from Leitner Wise. The BCG is designed in such a way that it not only looks great and is a massive upgrade over milspec, but it even helps in accurizing your gun.

  1. This is pretty interesting, but I foresee problems. I'd need to be able to put 5000 rounds on one of these to see what living with one would be like. $400 is a hard pill to swallow, when the likes of Toolcraft, AO Precision and Microbest, in their milspec forms, can be had for under $100.

I can see the retarded timing being a help when running suppressed with a high back pressure can, but I could also see this turning a perfectly functioning rifle into one that is finicky about the ammo it'll eat.

If I'm understanding this right, for any particular volume of gas, this altered cam path delays the unlocking of the bolt causing the cycling of the action to occur at a reduced pressure. Isn't this exactly what going to a heavier buffer or adjustable gas block does?

The most expensive adjustable gas block that I'm aware of goes for around $200 and going that route will at least give you some flexibility as well.

  2. Plus I don't think it's the actual campaign it's the camp path it's corrected to Eugene stoner's original path that gives it a little bit more dwell time and no rubbing when the lugs are locking up.

  3. Go to tacticals considerations and check out the one that says magical bolt carrier. It was like 4 months ago it's almost the same as this one I do believe. It's got a corrected cam path I don't know if it was actually titanium though but check out the difference in the guns ejection pattern from the original bolt carriers that he has in them. It was definitely helping with over gassing. You can tell a big difference in the ejection pattern.

  4. Like the vktr bolt carrier group with the enhanced cam path of watch guys put those in overgassed guns and I guess the dwell time it shoots them out at about 3:00 more consistent than the bolt carrier group that come with the rifles and that's Daniel defense and a few others. I got a lwrc it's not like this one though it's got the half-ass monolithic key gas key on it where it doesn't need to be staked. Thinking about getting one of the VKTR. I hear that piston system they got is pretty f**** nice being so adjustable.

  5. "Corrected" cam path. I tried all these Enhanced BCGs years ago with the lwrc, lmt, and KAC bolts. I always ran into some weird problems, and always fixed them with a milspec bcg. It's a solution for a problem that doesn't exist, other than a few limited examples.

  6. If you're interested in this BCG… check out either Leitner-Wise or VKTR. They are the same. I have 2 VKTR BCGs… one for a Criterion 20" stainless steel heavy barrel, and the other for an X2 Dev Group 16" Trident barrel. They're GREAT BCGs. I have a wide variety of different BCGs, but if I were forced to pick just one to run… this would be it.

  7. This falls into the ramjet category: awesome barrel and awesome comp but I could buy a new gun for the cost of it. Yea great for fine tuning but if it’s in a psa gun then it would cost as much or more than it. If I had a psa bcg I would spend 80$ and get the bcm bolt head and call it a day.
