First introduction to this "series", have not seen the first installemnt yet. The Dissent is an interesting rifle, but I disagree with calling it an AR15 alternative. It is a derivative or variation, not an alternative. It may have a different gas operating system. bolt, and buffer, but the underlying firearm is still the AR-15. I can take the Dissent upper and reciever end cap, install it on any of my AR-15 lowers, and it will function properly.

Sure it’s close to an AR , but why would you grab this instead of an AR what does it give you that your ar doesn’t other than just something different
My alternative to AR is my Mini14/30. I love it!
I have the Dissent BR4 and I love it. My only real complaint is the crossbolt safety sucks.
Go with OG AR-18 . My alternative.
I have some oddballs…Beretta ARX-100…Benelli MR1…Kel Tec SU-16C.
I’ve run a couple thousand rounds through each with no issues

I know it's new on the market but I have been pleased by my BRN 180 Gen3 upper.
It's unique enough for It's own few seconds of fame even when compared to It's Gen2 variant.
I have appreciation for the ar15 platform, I'm just bored of it. Lol I've shot so many of them.
Foxtrot Mike 15. Same concept, but FM sells their stripped upper – the only proprietary part you need (for either brand) once you have one bufferless bolt carrier. Dissent has the same theoretical interchangeability, but CMMG refuses to even sell complete uppers minus the BC. $75 vs $1400 for a second cartridge / barrel length

My favorite AR-15 alternative is the Desert Tech WLVRN
My DDV7 is my go to rifle, however my alternative fun rifle in 556 is the IWI X95
Too bad the US forced 7.62 x 51 on NATO.
The first FN FAL's where in German 8mm Kurz.
A FAL 50.63 Para in 8mm Kurz with a short barrel and aluminum receiver would be great.
