NEW as of April 2019- The upgrade kit is now the LED lens replacement. You keep the same housing and bezel ring. No need to remove head or cut any wires. This LED upgrade kit is for your LiteBox or Firebox Lantern replacing the existing halogen bulb fixture with an LED assembly, converting to a more energy efficient and illuminating tool. Lamp kit has 3 bright C4 LEDs with a spot pattern that illuminates longer and brighter. The LEDs function has High setting at about 7 hours run time at 540 lumens or Low will give about 15 hours run time at 333 lumens.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This part will NOT work on first generation lanterns. A quick way to know if you have a Litebox Lantern light that this will work with is the following: this will work in all Litebox Lanterns with a BLACK handle. It will NOT work with Litebox Lanterns with an ORANGE handle as they are too old to accept this part.
I have several of these. Im thinking of doing the LED upgrade. I've seen several of these upgrades, but no one seems to do a before and after of the upgrade to show the difference. The kit is not cheap.
My lightbox has 3 wires 2 gray wires and 1 green can I still install the upgrade kit on mine?
So, if I got 14 years out of my original LiteBox battery, I must be doing something right?
im sorry.. I need to take a screwdriver to change between high and low .. haven't they got the brains to put a switch on the out side
