Do You NEED An Eotech & Magnifier Or Is The Sig Romeo 5/Juliet 3 JuSt As GoOd?

When it comes to guns and accessories, you generally get what you pay for. Occasionally, though, there are products that present a great value. The Eotech XPS with G33 magnifier on Unity mounts is a fantastic optic setup, but the Sig Sauer Romeo 5 red dot and Juliet 3 Micro magnifier do basically the same thing. Are they “just as good”? Absolutely not, but are they good enough? Is the Eotech/Unity setup worth four times the price? Let me know what you think in the Comments and don’t forget to Subscribe!

  1. I'm not a brand snob, but I'll tell you from personal experience: The eotech takes a LOT of abuse before it quits working. Since I'm too poor to buy replacement optics as they break, I've settled on eotech for the primary optic. The battery life sucks, but it's easy enough to carry a couple extra batteries in your pistol grip…

  2. Eotech is old technology in a body that hasn't been upgraded to fix known issues. I had to send mine back twice, they still couldn't fix it. Mushy elevation and windage knobs, wouldn't hold a zero even though my old Romeo 4S could under same conditions, etc. Stay away from over-priced Hocus Pocus!

  3. I have a romeo setup and my buddy has an eotech setup. The eotech is nice, but in my opinion its not nice enough to justify the price. I can shoot just as well with the romeo to be honest. I've had the extra cash in hand to buy an eotech plenty of times and never bought one
Rather spend the extra money on ammo 😂

  4. I feel like it’s hard to say one is better just having it on an AR and taking a couple shots with both. It’s all in the user. One isn’t going to make you more efficient if you don’t train with it. I can guarantee DJ Shipley is better with a set of irons than I would be with that 2000 set up. That doesn’t mean iron sights are better. Point being, sure equipment can make a difference but between these two options I don’t really think it is enough to make that much of a difference. Train with your equipment folks!

  5. Forgot to mention in my last post, but tour custom build likely has alot of features on it (just from what i can see) that are going to make it a better shooter whatever optic is on it. I Imagine it has a upgraded trigger, longer, and better quality barrel, better gas system, quality break , free float barrel . Not to mention the bcg charging handle and all that good stuff. I wouldq like to see a video of the optics reversed and see of performance degrades on the high tier build or not. That would be interesting for sure. Good vids and glad to see more guntubers in my neck of the woods. Cheers, and beautiful setup on both rifles. Love the paint job on your budget build

  6. Man I live in southeast idaho and all my shooting spots have been shut down over the years. People doing stupid stuff and not cleaning up after themselves and all the generous land owners have slowly fenced things off one by one. Sucks

  7. Hey man great video thanks for the insight! Quick tip you'll love, take your right shoulder and turn into the rifle a good 45 degrees, low crunched in against the stock. You are letting recoil push you around too much and it's hurting your follow up shots on time. Your shoulder is a muscle, use it! Check out pewviews video on "delete recoil" shows it perfectly. Be well!

  8. So I’m putting a dig Romeo 5 with sig Juliet 3x on my ar9. I’m into what works and I have spent good money on some things but my main reason for NOT getting a EOTECH is if you’re NOT using a helmet setup with nods, your not getting what your money is truly paying for in my opinion. I shoot competition matches and I’m just starting and luckily the guys I shoot with are not really brand whores and they shoot amazing. Again I shoot an sig x5 legion that i customized. And I have another fully built sig. So spending the money isn’t the issue it’s really what you’re using it for.

  9. I find it easier to flip the magnifier with my right hand with the Juliet. I just hold normal position with left hand, jam gun into armpit, and flip magnifier with right hand . Instead of doing one of those gay reach arounds

  10. Great vid and really valid points. But bro youre killin me, you gotta stop switching wepoans lmao. Every 30 secs your throwing up the same guns 56,000 times hahaha. Little distracting hahaha. Again good points in the video got me thinking about a few things

  11. Does your magnifier on the Romeo and Juliet make the red dot look like 2 red dots together? Mine does, it makes me not like the magnifier I took it off. Plus the magnifier adds 10oz.

  12. Great video! Do I see that you have the flip up sights still on? Ive been wondering if Im able to keep them on when I install the Romeo & Juliets. Are they a perfect co-witness to the red dot, if so?

  13. Great video. I'm a first time gun owner (not yet) and 70 years old. I was looking at the Sig Sauer but now you've got me wanting the Eotech with magnifier. I know for me it is way overkill but I do like to be proud of the quality of my stuff so it is definitely tempting. I'm going today to buy a budget Del-Ton AR-15 and I have a friend that is going to loan me his Sig Sauer or his Eotech to try out, or maybe both. Thanks for the information.

  14. So I just got a juliette 5 micro for my romeo 5, and the reticle is super blurry. And I don't mean the beams of light, I mean straight blurry. I though it would look at least decent but it damn near gives me a head ache. Did I get a bad lense or sonthing or is that just the way it is? Also, would like to mention, for those of you thinking about getting the micro 5, that the eye relife is really not good, like not good at all. Iv had cheap scopes with better eye relief. I had to mount it back as far as it would go just to be able to see threw it well and adjusted the stock down. And when it's mounted that far back, it's really in the way of my charging handle. I have small hands and can barly grab it.

I know this is a bit of an Info dumb, but I have found it kind of hard to fully readeach these sig optics when it come to the magnifier pairings. So hopefully this helps someone.
