  5. the gun i use when i know im going to go shoot has an eotech. the gun i have for when i don't know whats going on and gotta shoot, is a T2. my eotech has parasitic drain. even if i trust myself to hit that button, i don't trust it to always come on.

  6. Post DOJ lawsuit my SWAT team traded in 512’s for brand new EXPS2. 9 of them broke due to the mirror in the roof of the optic coming unglued. We then went to Aimpoint. Interesting you didn’t open with the $26 million dollar settlement with DOJ for fraud. EOTech admitted they had no fix for thermal drift and up to 14moa parallax errors. Being a long time Infantryman and cop who has used EOTech and Aimpoint extensively I would only purchase Aimpoint. The biggest EOTech advantage is when used with a magnifier.

  7. To sound like a super fudd I have considered using an Eo tech for a hunting optic on a muzzleloader because my state has banned magnifying optics. The reticle allowing the small but noticable additional precision on a longer shot on a deer or elk with the need for a bit of Kentucky windage seems like a good idea.

  15. I have no issues with the short battery life or "fuzzy" reticle. My issue was a tad more inconvenient than that. It didn't even last one range trip before the reticle split up into 3 complete reticles side by side to each other😂😂 yes, I know thats a sample size of one, but still left a bad taste in my mouth.

  16. I'm starting to see more and more EXPS's pop up on fighting rifles and it makes me happy, because I know that it makes people with really strong negative opinions about them sad, and I'm all for making stupid people sad.

  20. This was my go to until the battery died when I pulled it from safe. It was on my home rifle. Now I have the halosun. The eotech dot is amazing but until we can get hours measured in year or months, I can’t trust it on a home rifle.

  36. Eotech would be my go to if it wasn't for the unfortunately but understandable short battery life. I love my romeo 4xt pro. Carrying around and worrying about batteries for me personally is just another thing to worry about when I shouldn't have to.

  37. 17:00 I found the 8-hour shut off is a good mode for patrol/guards duty, you just turn it on and it should last the entire shift, even if you don't push any buttons after that. And you'll know to change the battery if it blinks or doesn't turn on, it will go through about 3 batteries per year if you turn it on every day for 8 hrs.
    BTW, I found that either the B5 SOPMOD or the Magpul SL-S stock is a good pairing for AR with Eotech, you can have 6 extra CR123 batteries for your Eotech, WML, and LAM. At the same time, the weight helps counterbalance the muzzle end.

    I have one of the .50 EOTechs. Very cool. 500, 1k, 1500, and 2k BDC. I used it for a spell on my MP5SD hoping it’d match with the subsonic 9mm and while it didn’t it was also very cool.

    That optic and a maglite hose clamped to the handguard I almost cleared a 200m stage at a night shoot.

  42. 17:22 I thought the auto shut off length is dependent on which button you pushed to turn it on instead of the last button you push? Then each time you push any button while it's on will reset such timer.
    So, for a short mission turn it on by ↓, Or ↑ for a long mission.

  45. Anybody have any real world data or experience with the EXPS2 models not being as durable as the EXPS3 models. People always point to the waterproof depth rating being 33ft as opposed to 10ft but I've never seen anything else. I've had an EXPS2-0 for years with no issues, but I dont have opportunities to really beat on it in high round training and terrible weather. I also will never own NV so that's not an issue to me.

  47. I love the eotech for my stigy. There is ONE red dot that doesn't look like the dot was spit on my glass. It's the Burris RT1. It's crisp, don't ask me why it's dif. , and why it's crisp for me. Me not know. No matter how many posistives you give for the Eotech though, some guys will pass on battery life. Which I kind of understand, and kind of don't. I have 4 rechargable batteries that i got for 20 bucks that negates the issue. And, i'm not doing tours in the jungle with it. If it worked for our military, then the battery life isn't an issue. For home defense, most people are gonna be better off with a shotgun and pistol, but no it's not what i have. it's a 11.5 with a simple pistol dot cause it's just more fun. And, a g19. Okay, i've said enough that no one will read already.
