P365 X-Macro Comp – Brief History

The SIG Sauer P365 X-Macro Comp is a micro-compact striker-fired pistol that evolved from SIG’s groundbreaking P365 platform, originally launched in 2018. It redefined the everyday carry (EDC) category by offering a 10+1 round capacity in a subcompact frame, utilizing a staggered-stack magazine design.

In 2022, SIG expanded the platform with the P365 X-Macro, which featured a 17+1 flush-fit magazine, full-length grip module, and integrated 1913 Picatinny rail — making it the first in its class to offer full-size shootability with ultra-slim concealment.

Later in 2022, SIG introduced the P365 X-Macro Comp, integrating compensator ports directly into the optic-ready slide, paired with a ported barrel to mitigate muzzle rise and felt recoil. The pistol retained its modular fire control unit (FCU), flat-faced trigger, and X-Ray3 day/night sights, making it optics-ready and red-dot compatible (RMSc footprint).

With 17+1 capacity, controllability enhanced by gas venting ports, and a striker-fired ignition system, the X-Macro Comp became a favorite among tactical shooters, concealed carry permit holders, and competitive EDC enthusiasts.

The *SIG Sauer P365 X-Macro Comp* and *Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro* are both top choices for concealed carry, offering high capacity in compact designs—but they take different approaches.

The *P365 X-Macro Comp* features a *17+1 flush-fit magazine*, *integrated compensator ports* to reduce muzzle rise, a *flat-face trigger*, and a *modular Fire Control Unit (FCU)*, allowing full customization within the P365 ecosystem. It also includes *X-Ray3 night sights*, an *optics-ready slide*, and a *1913 Picatinny rail*—rare in this size class—making it feel like a full-size gun in a micro-compact form.

The *Hellcat Pro* offers a *15+1 capacity*, a slightly *longer 3.7″ barrel* (for improved velocity), and a *slimmer grip profile* for easier concealment. It’s also *optics-ready*, with a tritium front sight and a tactical U-notch rear. While it lacks a compensator, it’s priced lower, with excellent out-of-the-box reliability.

In short: the *X-Macro Comp* offers more control and features; the *Hellcat Pro* is simpler, slimmer, and more budget-friendly.
