I feel sorry for anyone that's had to suffer carrying one of these POS lights for any length of time. The button is absolute JUNK. It requires way too much pressure to operate intermittently and more to click on and off. The Lumincraft Tool AA or Thrunite Archer are better AND cheaper. Then there's my favorite, the Jetbeam SE01, if you can still find one (discontinued). Its everything the Streamlight SHOULD BE but isn't.
Just for reference, I own several hundred flashlights so I've tested enough to know what works and what doesn't. The Microstream is a "doesn't".
BTW, the reason the AAA doesn't work is its the wrong voltage, 1.35-1.5v vs. 3.7-4.2v for lithium. A viable replacement would be a 10440 rechargeable.
Just had to buy a new button assembly hopefully it fixes what seems to be connection issues, it tends to flicker and come on weak and just be sporadic and unreliable. Something I gotta tap it on the table for it to light up properly Worked great for 15 months hopefully this $12 button will fix it!
