My brand new Anderson Manufacturing AM-15 Utility Model carbine fired the first 20 rounds without a problem but then things turned sour real fast. I won’t be buying another Anderson carbine.

Honest opinion can’t complain about that. That’s why I watch your channel!
If you have an Anderson lower or upper that's in spec then just be happy. You would probably be surprised how many duds and lemons there are. The "cheapest". I want to go is BCM,STAG , S&W. IWI also makes an incredible rifle.
Sounds like someone doesn't know how to QC a AR15 seeing how you still don't know the cause of the problem! LOL.
Anderson uses Toolcraft BCG's they are hit or miss on working. Can always ID as they have huge tooling marks from milling. zero finish cuts.
Better than not having one at all !
As soon as you pull the bolt to the rear you can hear what a piece of crap it is
Yeah, nah…it ain't the mags… 😂
1st upload of the year! Alriigghgtt
If I was the CEO of Andersen, there would be a brand new checked and tested rifle on it’s way to you with some ammo to compensate for the rounds you wasted trying to get the gun to run properly. And an apology as well.
Love X-TAC ammo….Mostly because I inherited several hundred rounds…
M3 is not always good to go. They are more for variants. Try your M2
a shame. if Anderson reaches out please let us know. have a couple 80% Anderson lowers that came out very nice. now, I do have one of the ss fcg and the hammer is getting peened by the firing pin, still working though.
I saw one on sale for 339. I considered picking up another one just because. But I am definitely hesitant now LOL
What were you expecting?! The Poverty Pony™️ company slogan is basically “Oh no!” 😂
I have the Anderson AM 15. I took it out to shoot. I was using the PMC 55grain brass. It would not shoot that ammo. One shot and your done. It also wouldn't extract the round either. I took it apart cleaned it. I also ordered a new extractor. Put it back together. Same problem. I then switched to some cheap 55gr Steel case ammo and like a miracle it was healed. It fired every round of the steel case without a hiccup. So now it sits in my gun case as my steel case ammo shooting AR😅. It's still fun to play with.
I love my Anderson. Best money I ever spent
Hey dummy its a issue with the magazines, use another type, some of these plastic mag's are know for problems. Then you can complain.
Your best bet? replace that BCG, and get a new mil-spec or better gas tube and slap that in there.
Then at your leisure, you can swap out the gas key on the Anderson BCG and see if it works with the new gas tube…because it might not be the gas key on the Anderson BCG – could be something out of spec in there. Better yet, contact Anderson and have em send you a new BCG.
Sounds like bad QC and/or tolerance stacking on those parts.
wow that`s surprising all I know is you got to lube that bolt up and keep it lube no issues here i1d say its a buffer spring myself
I have an Anderson 9mm carbine, runs like a champ. Never had a bobble in over 2500 rounds. Uses Glock mags.
Probably an out of spec gas key.
Mine works fine no problems
So it’s basically still not California legal with even the issues you are having?
Fascinating! Once a Trekie, always a Trekie!
Let us know please I have a Deltron hope it works better than that one Anderson is close to me in NC I’m in SC
I have 2 AM15, one in 5.56 and one in 7.62. Both function flawlessly
Ive seen Colts from the factory new malfunction then break in most definitely , but after 100 rounds it should not happen just in my experience as a range officer with dod actually , but yea some run brand new but quite a few did hickup
What bolt carrier group did switch to for success?
They don't call them "Poverty Ponies" for nuthin'. 🤠
Went to Florida to help my brother move in to his new house—and Helene was about to hit—when I noticed his neighbor was a disabled vet. I also helped him prepare for the impending hurricane. I also installed a lot of things for him. He gave me an early Anderson M4, which had never been fired. I’ve fired it many times in the last months with Zero issues. I think it’s a mid 2000’s made rifle.
I bought the same gun and didn't have those problems. There was one malfunction, but every other round went – no problem. I'm brand new to shooting and this is the first time I've ever fired an AR, so I didn't know the bolt was supposed to lock back after the last round. I don't think it did that.
Thanks for this review. If I have these problems I now know to contact Anderson for a new bolt carrier group.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with Anderson firearms! When you get a new gun sometimes, if you haven't mated the carrier key to the bolt carrier, you will have gas leakage! It will take a few rounds to do what is called carbon sealing, where carbon builds up enough to seal the carrier key to the bolt carrier! Problem solved
I have this rifle with the magpul furniture, but I never ran it with the factory bolt carrier group. I popped a sons of liberty bcg in on day one. And put vibra tite on the gas block screws after I put a dimple for the second screw. And then I pinned the gas block. Also put in a BCM charging handle and a kak four prong flash hider. That factory bolt is probably leaking gas. The pmc 556 ammo is pretty hot. That’s probably why I did OK with that. I personally do not like the nitride bolt carrier groups I prefer phosphate chrome lined and carpenter 158. My two favorites are the sons of liberty and the BCM. so if you’re gonna buy a factory rifle at this price and use it for serious use you almost have to factor in some reliability upgrades.
"Military grade 223" that is not a thing. The military uses 5.56. You just fell for marketing hype.
Well excuse my comment below about gen 3 mags. But I will comment about your HS510C Hollow Sun sight. I have one on my AK 47 Z-papper and I love that sight !!
Gas block could be misaligned, buffer could be too light. Theres alot of issues. This is an issue with cheaper guns. You usually have to tinker with em.
Could you do a accuracy video on the Anderson? Maybe try a couple diffrent brands of ammo possibly compare to the Radical arms. Hopefully the Anderson just needed a little break in.
