The design for the EOTECH On-Gun Laser (OGL) focuses on human performance factors under extreme stress creating the premium choice for professional users. The OGL Standard Power (restricted to MIL/LE use) is powered by a single CR123 battery providing up to 9 hours of continuous run time. The machined aluminum housing provides extreme durability in a compact package roughly the size of a standard deck of playing cards.

The IR illuminator utilizes a high performing Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser (VCSEL) diode creating a clean beam and allowing quick adjustments from spot to flood. The ergonomic (patent pending) lever is unique to the OGL and allows professionals to adjust their illumination needs instantly, all while maintaining superior situational awareness.

  1. Great review! A couple notable points for this unit after having used it for a few months:

1.) the IR laser is extremely bright (36mW) when set to high laser/high illuminator. Illuminator is 84mW on high. There is a “half power” laser setting for IR high that is programmable by holding the fire button and turning the selector to the dual high setting. It still may be a little too bright for indoor settings, unless you use adjustable iris lenses.

2.) you can program the aiming laser to pulse by using the same method as the “half power” laser, only you turn it to DL, AH, or IH to adjust the rate.

3.) there is a low power vis laser override on these units; it’s accessible by double pressing the fire button and holding. This is helpful if you run a remote switch, as it’s hard to access the selector when in vis settings. There are now selector switch extensions that I’m seeing on the market that may help with this. IMO, the ergonomics are good enough to run this without a remote switch, although they include a Unity mod button with the unit.

4.) the diffuser/protective caps do not play nicely with Surefire pro swivel mounts, as you cannot easily flip them off if the light is pressed against the body of the OGL close to the front.
