We measured the performance of the brand new Streamlight TLR-1 HL-X, compared to the TLR-1 HL, and the TLR-7 HL-X. At the increased price, is it worth it?

I just ordered one. I have a streamlight that is about 16 years old. They sent me a new shroud and switch for free. They have excellent CS.
Great review. I’ve had my eyes on this for a bit. Still can’t decide between this and the x300 turbo though.
I was waiting for this review before I made a decision. Yes please torture test it!
Glad to head they updated the switches. The old TLR-1 switches are soft as butter and big hands + a high support hand = unlimited light NDs.
I would love a comparison so the x300 turbo
The switches are way better
Would like m&p holster support, or eventually just make an outlier model for this new version please.
I'll wait for the TLR-1HPLX.
Test/destroy more lights.
I'm waiting for the silver bezel to be dropped
Kind of disappointed Streamlight still doesn't have something that gets near Surefire Turbo levels of candela. They could probably have the brightest high candela light out there with the extra voltage from the SL-B9 have over regular CR123As.
Great video I have a request please. 1911 Emissary 4.25 and 5 inch
X300U-b still the best!
Torture test of these lights!
I want holster support for the streamlight tlr -1 HL-X for sig m17
Goonbeam had an EXACT TLR1 clone with 69,000 candela so I know it could be done, with all the HLX models coming out I knew one for the TLR1 would be soon but i assumed it had a bump in candela since thats what the consumers have been asking for. This release pissed me off and now im all in with SureFire X300 Turbos.
If it was 1000 lumen and a much higher candela i would get it, but as of now, im good
CZ P-10C and P-10F!
I like my rockers. I mean that was the main reason for the HL for me. Changing that ruins it.
What's the footprint? Do I have to get new holsters?
Edit: oh 🙁
Now if they could stop with the silver ring
Torture that thing
I actually like the streamlight analog switches. I wonder if the electronic switches are just a way to move more current through the circuit via a relay. I know 1500+ lumens is starting to get to that point where switches can become a bottleneck for current.
Please torture test this new kid on the block! I'd love to see it beat the surefire AGAIN.
HUGE fail. If this had 50k candela it would have been a winner. I’ll pass at only 20k.
No laser…
I'm super upset at Streamlight for this. I've been hoping for a drastic upgrade, and they just give us some new parts at a much higher price and without holster compatibility. Their original switches are iconic and unbeatable. Gone. Gotta charge the device? Point the gun at yourself to remove the batteries instead of just plugging the device in. Lame. Massive lever to open the bezel, check. I carry extra CR123's on duty since I use my light(s) so frequently. Once the proprietary batteries die, I'll have to go without while they charge or throw 123's in it. Which then makes it perform like the original HL.
Need a holster for the new 4.5” comped Walther PDP and this light
any potential issues with the protruding gasket in the rear getting compromised going in and out of a werkz precision fit holster rubbing against it? i can see some damage to that gasket in your video at 3:44. it looks to be worn down, smushed, and missing a bit of material. thanks.
Good stuff! Trying to decide between this and the TLR-7 HLX for my 4.25 inch M&P. Seems like either would work well.
