  1. I've been running piston systems in all my ARs for years. They run so much cleaner and the tuneability of the rifle is unmatched when switching between surpressed and unsurpressed. Great run down of the PWS MK114 Mod 2.

  2. It shoots flat because there isn't any back pressure on the BCG. Run a can on it and see the difference. I have an 11.5" SA piston driven AR. Shoots flat without my can…not so much when my can is on. It still stays on target down range, though.

  3. Of course a 14.5 long-stroke piston 5.56 with a 2-chamber muzzle brake would be pretty flat.
Nothing against PWS tho, it seems they make awesome rifles.
Those ribs are the result of lighting cuts in an effort to offset some weight from the barrel and piston system, nothing to do with adding rigidity.

I almost bought one but sprinted for a 12" LMT piston as my end-game AR. It is a more solid rifle with the most robust handguard and top notch barrel. The barrel change system only need 1.5 screws and you can even change between DI and piston in just 2 mins. It has more standard parts compatibility. Shoots super soft with just a short 3 prong key micro.

  4. I'd be curious to know if, when they killed the upper with those lines for rigidity, they took material away to cut down a little more on weight and that's why they added those. Or if it's still basically the same weight (or more) I have some Aero/Ballistic Advantage rifles and a few others. A couple are heavier than I'd like so I'm slowly working through components to see where the extra weight is at.

If that upper is lighter I might check it out. It's gotta be less expensive than V Seven components. Though you can't beat magnesium alloy uppers in weight but I digress.

  5. NO – not for that money, it's still just a turd ar & I agree WHOLE-HEARTEDLY with what you talked about a couple of years ago about the few manufacturers out there that make the turds, so why pay so much for a "brand",….there are other companies that "brand" ar-piston- guns, besides, I'll take my tacticcal shotguns for CQB w/my M14 Scout slung on for WAY more,…..atleast that's how I train…….

  6. Love piston AR’s. My LWRC M6 IC-E is phenomenal. Slightly different piston system but same premise. Good stuff.

Suppressing that particular gun is going to have you jumping through some hoops being a P&W gun without a can mount on it already, that I’m aware of, but not something that can’t be remedied of course.
    God bless~

  7. I am a lefty as well, I have a PWS MK111 upper riding a Radian lower. This rifle is amazing, shoots flat, is reliable, great suppressed. I mean it's 5.56 so recoil isn't really an issue, but the impulse is super soft. I also have an LWRC that i've had forever and I prefer the PWS (nothing against the LW, just preferences)

  8. You know what would be really cool? If you knew what you were talking about. The gun bouncing all over your shoulder because you don't actually mount it should be a negative indicator to anyone who would actually pay you for training.

  9. Being a machinist and engineer
I always get a laugh from anybody pushing the premise that removing
Inert material makes it more rigid or adds strength 😅 .

    I'm sorry but it's flat wrong ..

Enhancing material at a molecular level be it compounds
    Or heat treated …annealed etc.

    Yes

But machining away material …hell no

    That material adds strength …
    Common sense please ..

Those ribs that are now visible and raised …used to be flanked by material …and were there initially 😅😅

  10. I’m a left-handed, handgun shooter and a right handed rifle shooter I grew up iin an era where I probably would’ve been left-handed if my grandma didn’t smack my hands every time I use my fork with my left hand but when I got older and started shooting I realized that I shoot left-handed with the handgun and right handed with a rifle which is to me very advantageous in my recreational idpa endeavors because of the obvious ease of transitioning my weapons where with practice my rifle went down and by the time my rifle was down and secure I was already engaging with my handgun. Talk about shaving seconds but I am just having fun and don’t make astonishing times I compete with myself but it is a definite advantage

  12. After doing hours and hours of homework, I bought this same rifle a few years ago. Money well spent! PWS really paid close attention to all the details!
I'd love to see you take a look at at their new modular rifle they are currently rolling out.
