That's NOT an "assault style rifle". It's a cheap piece of junk Kel-Tec survival rifle, that folds in half for storage in a backpack. It uses standard Glock magazines. I fired one several years ago, found it not acceptably accurate like any normal rifle would be and found the recoil to be horrendous for a 9mm "carbine". We have a few guys who are issued 9mm M-16's, and they're decent enough for what they are, but I'll keep my issued 11.5" FN M-16 and my Saker 556K suppressor. I'll gladly rush in to an active shooter situation with that.
I remember when Obama said that "armed officers in schools will not deter these crimes". Yet his daughters went to Sidwell Friends which has 24 armed security guards, of course augmented to by the Secret Service details for his daughters. What he was saying was YOUR children don't deserve armed security, but his do.

I've been a firearms instructor for just over 10 years now. I've seen all different types of people from shy, soft spoken mothers, great grandma's and paw's, skinny, tall, fat, disabled…. You name it, I've trained them. When that scared or apprehensive person actually learns about the firearm and the safety put in place and actually get on the range and hit the target they will immediately get a smile on their face and a bit of confidence in their step and realize that guns are NOTHING like they're made out to be on the propaganda box! If you refuse to arm the teachers then by God put an actual REAL law in place that forces all places of learning to have either an armed police officer or well trained security at the very least! QUIT ALLOWING THESE PLACES TO BE SOFT TARGETS! It's not the guns causing the issue! Gun control has already been proven in MANY legitimate ways that it's CREATED more crime than ever, not protected those from crime. WAKE UP PEOPLE!
