  1. I used a 450BM as a back up shooter with multiple animals a year or so ago. At 85 yards it threw a spike to the ground and left a huge entry and exit hole. Here in NE Texas it’s hard to get a spike as most are 4 points and not legal. We have a weird spread requirement but, but it put meat in the freezer. Will loosen a filling on load production or doing a zero. But then it works. It will work well for black bear at close range in Virginia.

  2. I just bought 2 boxes of Hornady 450 bm. The first box had 2 rounds of brass split down the side and the 2 nd box had 1 rd of brass split down the side. Everyone needs to check the ammo before using it..

  3. How about a full length cartridge with a .458 bullet before weatherby beats you to it with a 458 RPM. Or at least a 308/284 length for a heavier AR-10 platform.

  4. I am so in love with the 6mm ARC, I'm hoping for a self-defense load from you guys that I want to use in my house….controlled penetration, non-recoshate you know the drill

  5. This round may be overkill for deer. Loaded heavy with good bullets (300+ grains) it could be suitable for elk and moose. While I don't care for its undersized case rim, the round is efficient and capable to 200M. Recoil is overhyped – it's generally in the range of a 20 gauge. While it would definitely not be my choice as a straight walled deer cartridge – .350 Legend is a better, more economical choice for deer and hogs – this intermediate round deserves careful consideration.

  6. Have an AR I built and a Ruger American in 450 Bushmaster. The AR cloverleaf's at 100yds. The Ruger being quieter to load in the deer stand has crushed deer the last 2 years for me. Last year a 10pt buck weighing 217 lbs gutted after hanging for 5 days. This has become my favorite deer gun for here in Minnesota.

  7. Love my 450 bergara rifle. Shot two deer in NW iowa this past season with it. Both good sized bucks, neither ran more than 40 yards. One was a 220 yard shot and the other right around 180. Absolute hammer

  8. Please make a 250gr bullet that has a core lock or bonded. I find the bullet now is fine, but I am concerned about the people complaining about jacket separation. I shot a large doe through the left shoulder and found the bullet in the hide of the right rear leg, after taking out the femur bone.

  9. They got the 6.5 Grendel bolt problem mixed up with the 6.8 SPC. The 6.5 Grendel (and 6mm ARC) case head is larger diameter than the 6.8 SPC, so the Grendel bolts are weaker and had a breakage problem early on. I have never heard of a broken 6.8 SPC bolt.
