If you can't repeatedly hit a man size target with a red dot/irons out to 300-400yds, then you should invest that money into more ammo to train with first.
Bro I suck with irons at 100 yards, give me a red dot and I can push it way further. I think my irons are trash honestly. Even the larger aperture is tiny
You can hit man sized targets out to 300 meters with a red dot.
In basic training at ft. Benning we we’re given worn out m16a4’s with milspec triggers, green tip 556 and a aimpoint compm4. We would hit 300M regularly and I never had to much trouble with 400M
