(From EO Tech’s website) EOTECH’s Vudu 1-10×28 offers a robust 34mm, one-piece aircraft aluminum tube and single-piece eyepiece that includes a removable throw-lever for fast changes in magnification. The low profile elevation turret includes a push/pull locking system and a capped windage turret for a secure zero. The illuminated, glass-etched reticle and first focal plane design allows for distance estimation at any magnification and lighting condition.

  1. Own one and run it on a ddm4v7 16" with a offset red dot. Shoot in dmr matches out to 700yds and will run it in the quantified performance series this year. Best LPVO on market. The 28mm objective makes it feel like you're looking through "bigger glass". Glass is fantastic as is the eybox! Use a vltor emod and shoot groups at 300 yds easily! The .25MRad center dot in thr SR5, which is the reticle on mine, covers 0.9" of target at 100 yds or about 0.9 MOA to distance! I plan to run it in a 2 day course ridgeline defense scoped carbine class. I'd take it 1st, Atacr 1-8x second, and a Trijicon credo 1-8 third. The vortex razor hd 1-10x is good but vudu 1-10x is much better executed! Hope this helps anyone considering this optic. I would get another if I had a use case beyond the rifles I already own! Cheers

  2. Is this a first focal plane optic?

assuming it is. The reason it's not brighter is because of that. Truly daylight bright on the lpvo means you have to accept second focal plane. That's also why they added the donut, to make the center "visible" on 1x

  3. I really wish optics makers would use something besides CR2032 batteries so we could actually have good illumination and a decent battery life.

If they just put a 18650 or two onto the optic in a similar location to a VCOG, I would imagine a respectable battery life would result, and be well worth the couple extra ounces.

  4. I have the Vudu 1-8X and then this came out shortly after I bought it. I don’t care about the 10X but I really want a FFP. What would you recommend or what is your preference for a 14.5 carbine? I will have a 45 degree offset RD. 2K would be my price ceiling as well, which throws out most NF optics. I have plenty of SBRs and rifles with red dot sights and now I want to build a 14.5 go to general purpose (not RECCE lol!) rifle. That seems to be the best so called do it all set up when coupled with a QD suppressor.

  5. I guess if you have realistic expectations then a 1-10x might be a good fit for a battle rifle: I like my PA 1-10x SFP on my AR10 in 308 cuz it’s point and shoot at any magnification up to 200 yards with a 50 yard zero. Decent okay-ish performance up close < 25 yards. Targets beyond 250 yards from a stable shooting position on 10x and use the reticle to engage. I also like to use the 10x to shoot tight groups at 1 moa targets @ 100 yards & 200 yards

    Just my 0.02 cents
Everyone have a great day and happy new year 🎊🎆🎈!

  6. I have a Razor 1-6 and Razor 1-10 I use in the tactical games. I like the 1-10 in FFP for holds, etc. for tactical games applications. A 1-10x is always going to have compromises built in. The 1-6 is probably all you need for an AR. All that being said I probably should've just bought a NF ATACR in 1-8x. LOL

  7. If done right, a 1-8 or 1-10 can be a do-it-all optic, but they have to have daytime visible illumination and the reticle has to be great on 1x and 8/10x. Unfortunately, there are only a few that fit the bill right now such as the ATACR 1-8 and Vortex 1-10. The NX8 1-8 is also great (I love mine), but a lot of people hate it. I would also recommend a 1.93 mount over the 1.57 mount for LPVO's. If done right, there is no need for an offset red dot either.

  8. 1-10X LPVO's are just a whole bunch of compromises in a really expensive package. 2.5-10X scopes are much better (if you even need 10X magnification at all) and if you're already running an off-set/piggyback red dot why bother with the inferior 1-10x scopes??? Clearly some people have more money then common sense or understanding of how optics work, to say nothing about how awful most of these reticles and illumination are.

  9. I've got the Razor 1-10x which is great on a AR10/308, but I don't think I'd ever put it on a 556 AR, a 1-6 x or 1-8x that's got a simpler reticle and with a better eye box will probably serve you better. I imagine the same with the Eotech 1-10x
