Bringing a rifle back to life. Whether you are conducting routine maintenance or needing to do a full rebuild due to parts wear. Here I address not only the parts used but what can be done to make your more budget minded rifle feel better. From the BCM MCMR Rail to the Giessele SSP trigger I tried to maximize my dollar while still re using some of the old good parts. I will have a full Tactical Considerations Home Page at the website.

Looks good
<— My new build Sharps Bros. receiver set with Spikes Tactical chf chrome lined barrel and bcg my edc goes with me everywhere congrats on getting the ol girl back up to snuf!!!
Very nice!
I was not aware of the adjustable gas block. That is the way to go as you said. It would potentially save you on other parts.
Glad you are keeping the gun. Certain guns have emotional attachments. That is a good thing. I have an old 1947 Iver Johnson 22LR safety rifle, sing shot bolt action. My dad got it used when I was 11. I used it until I graduated. My kids learned to shoot on it. I still take squirrels with it.
One of the best lower rollmarks in the game
Nice refurbishment brother
Love it man! Great rifle!
Nice rebuild…it's great when you show your 1st love some new love!🤣 Great video man, keep em coming!
Awesome stuff man! I remember seeing your first video of the ole' Bushmaster and I commented that couldn't wait to see how you were going to bring her back to life. Seriously awesome stuff bro!
Young manufacturing was bought out last year.. well see if quality stays up..
The best think about the AR platform is the interchangeability. I'm always fascinated by what people come up with that works for them. This thing is sweet. Love the look of that handguard/rail.
Nice rebuild.
I have used a screw tension device that replaces the rear pin and found that it did a better job than the little squishy thing . I carried 2 rifles with these installed and they really made the upper and lower a super tight unit
She’s a beaut, Clark
👍👍
Really nice retro build! I really enjoyed watching this!
I get it. It is like an old friend, that you are rehabilitating to keep it around.
Just did a very similar deal with a Springfield saint. dropped the delta ring for free floating bcm handguards, radion talon ambi safety, cmc ar trigger and lower kit…what else… sig Sauer RDS, and the Springfield metal flip up sights that are really great -oh yeah Geissele buffer tube assembly H1 and a braided spring and a BCM qd mount at the buffer tube assembly area. I have an LuthAR MBA 3 stock, which I am underwhelmed with, but have a BCM gunfighter stock in the mail(ol' reliable).
Bushmaster was going strong! Then they didn't do anything cool. They had a chance to take the industries by storm. Sadly they didnt!!!!!
I bought that trigger on black Friday very nice , I usually put bcm furniture on all my AR's .
Hey chrome BCGs don't powder stain black like NiB will……
Hrt Tactical, i need a backplate that says, Grandpa….
First AR I ever bought was in 2006 . I bought Colt LE6920 with Detachable Carry Handle . I ran it with BUIS for 2 years until I bought used TA01NSN. I scored hell of a deal on that ACOG . It was from 2004 time period . I ended up getting a very healthy used KAC RIS around that same period . Back then all I had was G19 G3 and Colt M4 . i still have the Carbine to this day . All though it's been butchered since then . i believe that Upper i put Colt SOCOM 14.5 Barrel and chopped the original barrel for my MK18 CQBR Mod 0 clone lol..
I'm not a 2 Stage Fan. GEISSELE SD3G is my favorite trigger. It's kinda of a mix between 1 and 2 stage but definitely falls into single stage TRIGGER. I have not tried SSP yet . I've been using SD3G for good while . Probably close to 5 years now . I do have CMC 3.5 Flat S.S. Trigger . I got couple of them on Black friday deal . They are awesome TRIGGER but definitely not on same level as Geissele .
I'm a sucker for Chrome Plated BCG / Bolt . Smith Enterprise makes the best hard Chrome parts. Colt BCG / Bolt is in all my go too Rigs . It's what I know and they've never let me down . I wish I could LMT Enhanced BCG/BOLT for all my go too rigs but that's just not practical.
Its always fun building or still having the first guns you ever bought . I wish I didnt trade my G19 G3 for G19 G4 . Oh well cant win them all .
Nice build bro..
I just got a Ruger AR 556 16" with the traditional M16 front sight. It's my first AR and I will like your opinion on it.
Great video today. Thanks for sharing.
Where did you purchase the red receiver tension device?
Bolts fall under that category (at least for me) of don't fix something that isn't broken. Unless you're changing out the upper receiver. Just my .02….
My first AR was a Bushmaster as well. I had a quad rail, an Eotech and a vertical grip, that used to be top notch. It used to be a Colt or Bushmaster where I lived. Now… these are great times for AR15's. I really want a Geisselle Super Duty. If I get elected I will introduce legislation so we can own SBR's and giggle switches as well.
Your old rifle is like a good man that you had a chat with at a bar who served just as you did, and later you guys parted ways and now he’s back once again and now are catching things up.
Coach, how about a behind the scenes video? What’s a typical day like? What is Mrs TC up to? How did you meet your wife? How about some stories when you were in the military? One can only do so many videos on guns and gear. You feel me soldier? Holla at your boi!
Big improvement there Mike! Glad you were able to bring it back to life and had fun doing it!!
That barrel is sexy as hell. Looks like something out of Alien
Great timing. I’m new to building and just finished my 2nd kit from PSA. Thanks for the tips.
My first was a Colt 6920 Magpul Edition with an Aimpoint Pro on it. Bought it around 10 years ago? Probably won't ever change a thing on it.
ITS ALIVE!!!
Chrome is the best coating for the BCG.. I wouldn't change it.
Im in the process of transitioning my 7.5in Radical Firearms AR pistol upper into a 20 in DMR. Waiting on the new barrel, handguard, and gas tube.
Nice upgrade’s.
Turned out looking good brother!
Looks fantastic dude. Very nice rebuild.
Once you master the Bush. It must be rebuilt, several times.
