  1. The biggest setback for the Tavor is that IWI US is the sole importer of spare parts for this thing. Anyone who owns one knows the frustration of trying to get parts for it through their online store. No joke, I don't even think the firing pin and spring kit has been in stock for over 2-3 years and counting now. That's kind of a big deal if you plan to make this your main go-to rifle. I loved mine while I had it, but at the end of the day I didn't want to be stuck with $1,600 tactical paperweight on my hands the moment a critical component broke.

Compare that to an AR where you can basically get parts from everywhere dirt cheap and keep the thing running until the end of time. Love it or hate it, that's why most people will still gravitate towards the AR platform. I honestly wish the US market had more serious competition because quite frankly I'm not a big AR guy. These manufacturers need to realize parts availability and support is just as important as getting the actual rifles imported into the country. Ultimately that's what separates real workhorse guns from flashy range toys.

  2. Saying "6 Reasons why the Tavor is Better than the AR-15" is like saying "6 Reasons the Playstation5 is better than an Atari 2600." – Half a century's worth of human innovation and technological advancement, that's why. It… not really comparing the same thing. They do the same thing (both shoot 5.56 is as to both are game consoles) – but… they aren't really comparable in any way.

  3. Why is your face all black at thunder ranch? One thing I dont like about the x95 is that the ejection port is right by your face and the muzzle is much closer to your face. Pretty much need to run suppressor if you don't want a headache after shooting. The cqb benefits are null to me as a civ as even in wrol I would avoid cqb situations like the plague.

  4. My Tavor 7 is my favorite tool in the shed with a close 2nd for my SIG 556R. The T7 is just an all around beast, love shooting at 500 with it, but just all around 308 fun. My brother had a X95 and loved it. Over 1k rounds with no issues. Ended up selling for a Scar 16.

  5. The day a company offers a trigger as crisp as an AR without the “plasticky” feeling even if its as heavy as a standard AR trigger, I will buy a P90, VHS and a Tavor, but the triggers are hot garbage. They are extremely handy but god damn, that trigger. It is on par with a toy gun. Sponge like and so “plasticky.”

  6. I have a weird data point but my X95 was a piece of shit in terms of reliability. Choked on steel cased that my BCM ran and randomly would fair to fire with M193 brass. I was terribly disappointed with it and eventually ditched it for an AK.

  7. I have one of the original tavors and prefer it to the X95. Ergonomically it's the rifle I can shoot the best while standing at decent range. But the trade offs over an AR15 just don't justify it for me. I'll still keep the rifle, but I'd probably look to an AUG if I did a bullpup again.
The X95 doesn't shoot nearly as well as the original tavor and I feel the ergonomics were a severe step backwards.
