  1. My God new gun owners pls do not use a hunting rifle for home defense unless you trying to kill everybody but the person you shooting at guess what if you miss and that round go through the wall's and hit someone else you going to jail these YouTube idiot's do t his for money they have no clue about what he's talking about they are getting people killed every day

  2. I own a Ruger PC model 19122 9mm carbine tactical (collapsible stock and pistol grip) with a 16" barrel. This is an awesome home defense weapon system. Perfectly suited for urban environments.
I use 147gr hollowpoints, thus decreasing liability due to over penetration and long traveling distance.
You miss with a 5.56 cal rifle in an urban environment and that bullet may become a tragic liability nightmare. Hence, I use my PC as the primary weapon for home defense, and I have one of my full size handguns for back up.
Only in case of total anarchy, lawlessness, chaos in the streets, or a potential civil war, I would use my AR-15 5.56 rifles.
The fact of the matter is, police carbines or PC have tactical use and applications for special purposes.

  3. I would rather just get another pistol instead of a pcc. Think theyโ€™re pointless. In terms of wanting the best possible tool for the job I donโ€™t see a situation where a handgun or a rifle would not have been better than a pcc

  4. Enjoyed the video. I had heard longer barrels for 9mm aren't necessarily good, but it wasn't explained like you did in this video. I just thought the longer the barrel the better. I'm looking to get an AR pistol in 9mm with a 6" barrel, so I'm thinking the 6" barrel is good for accuracy but too long to negatively affect the round's effectiveness in general (yes, the type of round will also come into play).

  5. An Abrams tank would be โ€œbetterโ€ for HD than an AR by your logic.

9mm is plenty lethal. Obviously. Less recoil, simplistic design, cheaper ammo, less muzzle flash, quieter, etc, etc.

An AR is a poorish HD choice. Any lethality gained in a rifle over a PCC would be far better solved with a shotgun without the massive over penetration concerns.

  6. I'm gonna throw in my two cents here.
Pistols arent even close when it comes to effectiveness compared to rifles. Intermediate cartridges are undeniably more lethal.
The only reason they exist is for pistols, and pistols are only really good for maneuverability and concealability.
If you arent concerned about maneuverability and concealability, and want the recoil management of a rifle, just get a rifle. Dont handicap yourself by using the something with the drawbacks of both without the benefits of either. At least in the terms of self defense/personal protection.
They are fun to shoot, and that is an excellent reason to buy one. Just dont try to convince yourself it is a fighting rifle.
If you are worried about overpenetration with a rifle, find some ammunition that is satisfactory for what you intend to use it for.

But hey, I'm just some jackoff on the the internet. Take it for what it's worth.

  7. Don't forget about lever-actions. In some states it's a real bear to legally acquire a semi-auto handgun or even PCC. However a lever-action rifle in something like .357 Magnum is often still easy to get, and a fast -handling lever gun in .357 is going to put the hurt on any bad guy. Something to keep in mind if you live where "evil" semi autos are illegal or frowned upon.

  8. Why is everyone saying 5.56 is better as a round than 9mm inside a home? We're not shooting long distances where a 9mm would accuracy, and unless the guy is wearing body armor a 9mm HP will kill you just as fast as a 5.56.

  9. I love 55.6 but i have shot in ar15 inside once without ear prob prob couldnt hear for a min and my ears were ringing for over an hour if someone breaks down your door or you randomly hear somone in your house are you going to remeber to grab ear pro prob not and it will make you less aware or less you buy the super fancy ear pro. Also one 22 round is about the same as 1 pellet of buckshot so i Dont really see why 22 wont work for home def if i take a ar22 and see someone break down my door i wouldnt just shoot them once I would mag dump the whole 25 rounds which can be done in like3 secs sure 1 shot stop mebe not but in a life or death shooting once i dont care what gun i have if i have to shoot im shooting them til they hit the ground and are no longor a threat

  10. Throughout a long career I've cleared rooms using pistols , HK MP5s (oh, so sweet), shotguns and ARs of various lengths and calibers. For home defense I have no problem using my AR-9 with a seven inch barrel and good optic. It is a very compact package yet still gives me the three points for stability…and at my age I need all the help I can get.

  11. My Aero epc9 is my first, built during pandemic parts issues. Knowing the defense ammo will fragment, I use fmj at least it should penetrate. And until I know my weapon better, I prefer the likelihood fmj will have some edge if feed reliability. I ll just have follow up shots since I know my bullets are not top tier defense loads . And FYI I run 16 in barrel, Glock mags and fixed stock.

  12. Food for thought — most folks can shoot a carbine more accurately than a pistol– 30 rnd capacity- velocities with the correct 124gr .ie;gold dot)) approximately that of 357mag.– which is gold standard for stopping affect. Low muzzle blast & flash. Win. Win. Win.

  13. Retired military and very familiar with AR platforms. I am looking to add a pcc to my collection. Specifically to stop over penetration and to be able to run the same ammo and mags as my pistol.

  14. I put the hornady critical defense rounds through my ruger PCC…ummm, I don't think you have anything to worry about as far as impact. That being said, let's be honest nothing is home defense like a 12 ga., best home defense there is.

  15. Great point about the possible problems with defensive ammo and a longer barrel. I wanted to ask if you ended up doing a ballistic test to confirm some of your thoughts on that? If not, can you please? ;). I ask because I live in an urban area and kids on all sides in houses next to me and across the street. So I try to make sure I'm using ammo that has less tendency to over penetrate. Can't avoid everything but to be tactical in my use of ammo I think is a good thing. I'm looking at getting the CZ Scorpion carbine as well.

  16. Where do I need to move to get decent market away enough from hokes so I can utilize My land this way and turn it into a little personal shooting range ?

I'm in N.Y and My sage full of guns make Me sad. I get to shoot twice a month since being discharged due to injury.

  17. Do I see a black river tactical linear compensator at 11:58? How well does it work? I just got a Kaw valley precision linear comp. It's the only one with a video that actually looked at decibel ratings with and without. It was 3dB difference, which corresponds to a 2x reduction in perceived noise.

  18. Good Video. Excellent detail and info. I had 2 Ruger Carbines both 9mm. Sold the first because the carbine seemed a bit too much / heavy for the 9mm cartridge. Sold the second one a few months later because of the same reason!!! Way to BIG for the small 9mm cartridge. Go with a lighter hander AR platform. I did a build with a Spikes Tactical Lower and it came out great! The Ruger was very reliable but as I said too heavy!!
