  1. Howard outstanding review πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²give that Swampfox Kingslayer circle dot green ret. a try Pistol or rifle its a tack driver also .πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²

  2. Good information, and good shooting as usual hrfunk.

Do you practice full draws from holster, when practicing with RDS?

You know that close retention is basically the 2d half of a full draw & present. If you practiced your RDS presentations from fully holstered, I'd bet you'd find you will eventually lose that small delay when you search for the dot — at any distance, but especially closer, faster encounters.

The bonus is, full draw practice means you're already practicing close retention presentation, which is the 2d half of the full draw — and so your close retention presentations will improve as well.

  3. Thanks for the video.. Been waiting for this to come out to put on my new duty pistol (Gen 5 Glock 17 MOS). Already have a quality mounting plate from Forward controls design. Just need to figure out which irons to get a good 1/3 lower co-witness with this sight.

  4. 3:18 Here we see HR wearing his Judge Dredd smile.
Great testing and everything went fine with the cams. Was it just not that hot of a day or did you cover them in some emergency blanket? I'd like to see you test the Trijicon SRO if a big window is a cure or if you'd still prefer the circle dot. That's the sole reason of my interest, since it's foremost a sports optic and the round shape tends to break as well as after lots of use at a high price. Holosun seems a save bet so far. I hope that Eotech can bring the holographic magic to the small pistol sights. There are those huge circle variants too…I think 42ish moa size so that the outskirts disappear when the dot is centered. The downside is that the really big circle eats quite a bit of battery power compared to other options. I personally really like the option to have dot+circle, dot alone and circle alone options.

  5. I was going to buy an HK VP9.The guy brought out a Canik TP 9SA . I bought the Canik for 339.00 out the door and never looked back. 2 magazines, holster ,loader ,cleaning rod, hard case. One of the smoothest, accurate, quality pistoles I have ever owned. Tack driver for sure. This may not be the best pistol " but its lookin for em" Great Video as always. Thanks HR!

  6. Could you possibly compare the eflx window size to the deltapoint pro? Being that they share the same footprint, I’m interested. The eotech appears to be similar sized, but hard to tell without a side by side. Thanks!

  7. I would recommend looking into the Holosun HS507C-X2 Pistol Red Dot Sight with the ACSS Vulcan Reticle. The 250 MOA circle gets you back to the center of the reticle very quickly. And the center chevron gives you a very precise aiming point.

  8. Excellent shooting. Wonder if at combat distances you would be faster with open sights. The circle sight would be faster from what you've said. I can visualize the red dot takes up valuable or potentially valuable time reacquiring the sights in a real fight.

  9. Excellent video! I'm thinking about finally trying out a holosight on one of my range pistols. I have an older red dot sight on my Ruger MK IV, and I really like it. I had an experience years ago as a police officer, that has made me somewhat biased against holo sights on duty guns. We were doing a night shoot, and I was running an Eotech on an AR. Everything was fine in no-light with weapon light for illumination. However, shooting with the overhead lights of a patrol car parked behind me caused issue. The blue lights completely washed out the Eotech lens, meaning I could not see through the optic. I never had that happen with a traditional red dot like an Aimpoint. I do like Eotech sights though, and I have one on one of my AR's.

  10. A competitive shooter generally will not shoot doubles or other multiple shots without some sort of "sight picture" for each shot. The difference is what the competitor will call a "sight picture" and the traditional one you were taking in your shooting. The competitor will define a sight picture as "seeing what he needs to see" to make the shot not the sight (or dot) resting upon the target

  11. Good morning HR. Good shooting. Some thoughts from the live chat. About the raid, how long before the Feds start leaking information they seized to the press? On the Eli drill. People seem amazed at 40 yard hits. I remember the final 50 yard stage in PPC competition. While watching your LEO qualification series I noted that most didn't go beyond 25 yards. Is that to discourage taking long shots or to save time and money on training?

  12. Howard, this was a terrific video . . . very enjoyable and with substantial educational content. Thank you. I’d add that the shooter, the Eotech optic, and the Canik semiautomatic ALL performed with real excellence. That firearm and red dot certainly are among the very best any of us might own. I really, really do not need another service-sized, 9x19mm autoloader, but Canik clearly produces outstanding firearms . . . and I am again truly tempted.

  13. The Rival is the same physical size as a Glock 34. A bit big for CCW. I absolutely love mine and would recommend it to one and all. Accurate and functional. Can’t say enough good about it. Price point on the EFLX, as is with dot options is not on the "gotta have" Boyer list. I can buy 507C V2 for $250 or less. Good video and shooting HR.

  14. Looking forward to your review Howard
l just don't like the Eotech line they are way over priced for what you get.It has been hot here in SC.l have been busy with the Nuisance Wildlife Control we had a Beaver problem to take care of with night vision at night they reported 2 I seen 8 shot 4 the thermal is awesome.

  15. Ok, hmm, pistols are not even a factor in wars at all and never will be , so as far as small light Arms it will be the M16 A1, Browning 50 cal was crucial in all wars M2 from 20s on was essential for our victory and superb weapon standing test of time created by a genius of the quality that no longer exists.
