I'd rather have my 13 inch 6.5 grendel than a 12.5 .308. Just doesn't make any sense to go lower than 16 inches.

Is there any way you could get a hold of some of the lighter 308 loads like 110 gr vmax or some of the 125gr sierra stuff?
For hog hunting it would be great, for a SHTF urban rifle it would be great because it would be more effective against cover like cinder block or brick.

I’d say 18” for a ar10 is the best length. But I prefer 16
I'm glad you did this build and will be coupling it with a YHM RESONATOR K. I have a 12.5" 308 that I have a YHM Res K can in NFA jail for as well. It is fun to shoot, hey-not every gun has to be practical… Can't wait to see your review with the can on it. Keep up the great content👍🏼. I do shoot it with Yankee Hill's blast forward device while waiting for the Res K to come in. I have noticed a POI shift using the BFD vs not having it on( when no one else is around) que the bloody ear drums….I am using the YHM Ratcheting mount.
