  1. Great video….but often times there’s no need to push all the way to max magnification. Just a quick slap/push to 3 power would be enough for that distance. And would shave some time.

  2. Easy answer why the rds+magnifier was faster inside 100yds. Combination between just flipping magnifier and the wider field of view. This would be a better test at a longer distance such as 300+yds. Yes you can hit 200 or 300 with a red dot or even irons all day but it's much easier to see the target and get PID with more magnification.

  3. When comparing the VCOG to the NF, the VCOG wins in my opinion. It has more than triple the battery life and an integrated mount. I also love the double-A battery factor. I almost got a NF ATACR but those details sealed the deal for me. I got the VCOG SCO and still saved a few hudred bucks when you factor the price of the mount.

  4. Did you zero all of the optics prior to the test? And at what zero?
I feel like that should’ve been discussed in detail prior to the testing.
In all honesty, I’ve seen too many soldiers have issues using the CCO.

  5. No need to unshoulder to bang from 1x to max. Especially with a throw lever. I got rid of mine on my LPVOs because they are just a kit snag that has jacked my magnification setting and aren’t much faster in reasonable transition to max distance. There are more usable magnifications on these optics that seem to get overlooked in their reviews. Of the few LPVOs I have the Vortex is the most difficult to get to max quickly. I can live with it over thinking I’m on 1x and pulling up to like 2. Something.

  6. Hi Clint I am new to the ar and on a budget. I have the mp sport 2 and love it but would really like better optics the red/ green dot it comes with . What would you suggest I look at for up 100 yards and close range on a budget
Thank you keep up the great vids and info

  7. This reminds me of the elcan spectre, the optic that has a magnification switch. I have an eotech but my eyes are bad so the reticle is really bad and fuzzy without my eye contacts or glasses. I really like fiber optics because of electronic/battery failure.

  8. Very nice video Clint! If I might make a suggestion. If the camera work could be changed slightly to show a sight picture down each tube say in a screen as a comparison so we could see some of the differences ourselves, that would better. Even a split screen maybe, for a display of all the optics at one time for a few seconds. Thanks, and keep up the great videos!

  9. my brother knows a guy from vortex and he said what makes more or less light come through the lens is the variety of special coatings that the mfg puts on them not the size of the objective lens.
