There was a time Ruger Take-Down rifles were common or the Springfield EVAC was available. They’re all gone, they stopped making them. Why? We’ll talk about that in a future video.

  1. even if you do find a take down AR-15 now days companies in my opinion want you to sell an organ to afford one. most innovations as of such are just well over price. plus now you can get AR-15 in the shortest of short barrels then there is the PDW & PCC that are in small packages an easily fit in a backpack. MSR Manufacturers such as AR 's and AK's in my opinion are charging way to much for upgraded parts and accessories just because of supply and demand look at how much they charge for some of these drop in trigger such as a binary or forced reset trigger most well over $400. an that is just because of demand for them

  2. part of the problem is HOW they take down. If the handguard doesn't go with the barrel, there really is no benifit [Removable barrel means the longest part is your barrel, which will be shorter than barrel and upper receiver]. In addition, removable barrel means that your bolt and carrier are positively contained in the receiver instead of needing some other mechanism to keep them in place as in a separated upper [bump the charging handle and everything falls out].

  3. Because of stupid designs like this ruger that just the barrel comes out and the rail stays. The AR15 is already a takedown rifle. The upper separates from the lower with 2 pins. Solving a problem that doesn't exist.
