Thanks for video never knew this and that's makes alot of sense wonderful explanation
Excellent!
Whoever says they don’t need to be changed never been in a fire fight before. Of course you change them when they fail!
Just damaged mine somehow while cleaning it. They were sticking out and hanging up on reassembly and a little too much force and bent the end of one. Less than 1000 rounds but I'll be replacing them now. And thanks to your video I know how. Earned a sub. Nice to the point video
My Gas Rings failed once so I bought an AK.
jk lol
Is that FailZero?
Are the gas rings supposed to be tight and not loose rings? I mean mines move when I push the opposite side
Hell right. Hell right ? Hell right!
Damn I would have cleaned it first
Do the gas rings have to be lubricated? (A lot or a little?)
👍👍
I can confirm that the gas ring placement DOES matter. Brand-new BGC and all 3 gas rings came non-staggered…causing my rifle to short stroke and never chamber the 2nd round and even partially eject the casing. Just my 2 copper 😀
I always love a vid that's short and sweet, that gives ALL the necessary info! Thanks for your work on such a usually ignored subject.
real good video…thanks
Great video. Last time I cleaned my BCG, my gas rings fell out, they were half-moon shaped!
Great video, thanks for posting.
can the gas rings move around or do they have to be tight
My SOLGW BCG fails the test after only 5-600rnds. I rapid fire a lot & its a short barrel .300, but still very disappointed. This is supposed to be a cream of the crop BCG.
Great video. Thank you ! Looking forward to seeing more from you.
It absolutely doesn’t matter which direction you put the rings on….don’t let anyone tell you differently, nice video
Good job
I voted thumbs down because the guy doesn't have enough care for his weapon to even clean it before a video
Thank you
Have you tried an enhanced, one piece spiral gas ring?
Great video. Love the gas rings test. Worked out perfectly. Thank you!
I liked that you spoke clearly and that you where direct and to the point, is that camera supposed to focus kind of slow? Thats the only thing negative I could say.
Another nice video, thank you!
Is there anywhere I can buy a set of gas rings without outrageous shipping.
Everywhere I go they're either trying to rip me off at 5 or 8$ for 3 rings or only sell a bag of 24+ rings.
I found a set for $2.50 yet with shipping it came to $10.
I cant justify spending $10 on an item that isnt worth more than a roll of tin foil wrap
My FailZero gas rings went at around 2k rounds
Yes, ring spacing matters. Make sure they DO NOT line up. They must be staggered!
Seems easy enough. Thank you.
My BCG falls onto the bolt but i've only had >3000 rounds through it.
However, the bolt wont fall down on its own weight. It only collapses from the bcg weight.
I was reading gas rings should last more than 6000-8000 rounds. Seems off.
Thanks! My gun started to fail the extraction of spent rounds and I found one of my rings had actually broken. Never seen it before but this seems dead simple to do. My parts arrive in a week. Thanks again.
Thank you and Thumbs Up.
Would worn rings cause short stroking? Live round has a gash from the bolt about 1/2" above the rim and failed to feed. Remove bolt and ring gaps are lined up. Alternate ring gaps and rifle fires 3-4 rounds. Then gaps line up again
That ring test isn't the most accurate or comprehensive. It's attempting to test the coefficient of friction based on ring tension but that's not right as the surface finish of the inside of the bolt carrier has a LOT to do with that. Some are machined a little nicer than others. I can guarantee you you could install some gas rings with 10,000 rounds on them and they'd be lapped smoother than the surface of a diamond and it would still pass this test on my newer Colt bolt, as the inside is machined horribly, thus making it APPEAR as if it was good when in fact it would not be… If you're going to rely on this test, take a good magnifying glass and inspect the inside of your bolt carrier as well to determine how smooth or jacked up your surface finish is.
Thank you for the video!
Gaps don't matter. An old myth
Can gas rings be replaced with an O-ring?
Can we work together?
Brother I want ur contact number. I mean what's app number.
Great job on video man, excellent camera work. Could see and hear clearly. Fast and to the point.
