  1. Thank you for another informative video. My go-to at home is an AR 7'5" pistol, a Flaming Pig on the end keeps my support hands fingers attached. Short, maneuverable, light and full of frangible rounds. Should I miss the first shot being half asleep, me and the bad folks will be wide awake given the muzzle blast and fire show the 7.5" barrel puts on at night.

  2. Thank you for addressing the over penetration concern. That was what held me back from an AR for self defense and made me a little nervous when I hear that's what others use. Excellent advice.

  3. Great video! The only thing I disagree with, and it’s not a big deal, is the wml on the rifle using it to scan the house. If you have a decent light, you can keep the rifle at a low ready with the light at the ground and still have more than enough light to see straight ahead inside a home without worrying about flagging the wrong person. I personally use the olight Odin with the pressure pad. It has 2000 linens at I think 19k candela but also a good peripheral light outside the hotspot.

  4. 10.5" lightweight AR pistol (really Mr.AFT, it's a pistol) loaded with 55gr gold dots and a single point sling for me. I stick to a 20rd GI mag though. It cuts a lot of weight off the weapon and DOES make it a 1 handed device suitable for throwing light switches, opening doors, and etc. After having watched thousands of gunfights in videos on ASP, police activity, enforcement rewind and similar channels, I have yet to see the home defense scenario where 20rds was not sufficient to get the job done. But if you prefer 30, by all means, use 30, just talking about me- to me the half pound weight savings going with a 20 is well worth the sacrifice in additional capacity.

  5. Shield and spear for civilians. In the home defense scenario each has its own different psychology of use and tactics. Handgun is a shield, long gun is a spear but neither makes us invulnerable.

  6. Another great tool is the AK platform. Not as polished as the AR, but a helluva lot of fun to shoot. Simple design. Takes some practice to use effectively but I’ve never had a FTF/FTE and it makes big holes quickly.

  7. If a police officer shoots someone who is in their own home answering their door, even if they are holding a rifle, something is very wrong with our policy tactics.

  8. Kyle Rittenhouse. I put a sling on all my rifles and use them at home and on the range. The sling saved Kyle’s life. They want to take his gun away and they couldn’t. When I go down range I carry my rifle no one can take it from me. It’s heavy clumsy awkward. But I’m learning

  9. As a small framed person with an extraordinarily bad back, I do not have a shotgun, even a .410 shotgun, for all the reasons you mentioned. But I do have a couple of Glock 19s and ready to go AR-15. I feel pretty well supplied.

  10. Have to disagree with his handgun at 2 am knock raise it above your head and rest it on the side of the door frame out of sight in a natural leaning fashion it can be dropped fast and shoot or if someone rushs in its already in hand
