Range Report: CMMG Banshee (MkGs 9mm)

In this Range Report I examine and shoot the Banshee built by CMMG. This is a PCC I have been wanting to try out due to the operating mechanism they designed for it. This “radial delayed” blowback is supposed to provide a lighter recoil than standard AR9s and not use extra heavy buffers. This is a pistol I am excited to try and I want to thank my local subscriber Mark for lending this to the channel for review.

  2. The ATF did a raid in Texas today in Houston on a bunch of Glocks that were full auto but they keep on trying to hide the fact that the the pistols mods from Mexico. please tweet it out or tell somebody.
Trying to make it sound like everybody in Texas is making full auto 3-D printed guns out of control when that’s not the truth.

  3. Another thing I've noticed with mine is that these are very finicky with PMAGs. I bought a ton of PMAG 27s because you can usually get two for the price of one 33 round OEM Glock mag, but I was noticing feed issues with the PMAGS…it turns out the bolt face was shearing off the polymer when it dropped. I emailed CMMG about it and their response was "yeah, some of 'em do that." I also added a linear comp to mine – not because it needed one, but because I really wanted some kind of slight barrel-lengthening device so my hand wasn't so close to the muzzle…of course, Form 1-ing the damned thing and now having a foregrip on it solved that issue definitively.

  4. Jason I think you would love my MPX with the Timmy trigger. It fixes both the trigger complaint and it takes double stack mags made by lancer.

  5. Another reviewer of a PCC I've seen recently also had similar thoughts on glock mags. I've tried a couple PCC and settled on the CZ Scorpian over the Banshee more for cost. While I want a Banshee i don't feel it's a 1500 gun especially if I have to swap the trigger out.

  6. I’m so with you on the Glock mag pcc issue. I wouldn’t buy a pcc if it used Glock mags either for all the reasons you stated. That Colt is amazing! Do you use it much?

  7. I like the glock mag due to the 2 glock handguns and the PCC FX-9 carbine that I carry and use… 1 type that fits all 3 guns means less hassle in interchangeability

  8. Well, I think the Glock mag, both 24rd and 33rd, looks very nice and functions very well with my 5" Banshee. And that is why I purchase the Glock version over the Sig version. (I love my Sig, I don't own any Glock pistol and will not buy any.) Over a thousand rounds now with no problem at all with the Glock mags. In my humble opinion, Banshee and Glock mag is a match made in heaven.

  9. I got the rifle version with the 16” barrel. I haven’t shot any other PCCs but I love the way mine shoots.

Part of me would like to SBR it so I could get the 8” barrel, that 5” seems a bit to short to grip with a fill hand well, but I have no reason too besides it looking cool haha

  10. I like the review but how did you come to the conclusion that Colt mags are "more" reliable than Glock mags? Looks are subjective but they are both considered extremely reliable in PCCs so where'd you get that information?

  11. Love mine added a 3 lug adaptor and a 1 oz bolt weight ,shooting suppressed a lot less gas coming back than a standard blow back. will add a vertical foregrip when I get my stamp.

  12. Good morning Jason, first one to tick the like button and leave comment, Brilliant piece of kit, can I have two. By the way my 1911A1 grips from Browne Works are brilliant. Cheers
