For some reason I just can't stand red dots on rifles. I don't know why? Maybe I think they're boring? 😂 But I'm that guy who rarely shoots past 100 and has an lpvo. This video is forcing me to confront my previous thought process.
This might be the best answer to the LPVO v. Red dot + magnifier debate. The reasoning is very sound and it gives a very practical solution

Great video, and I agree in regards to red dot vs LPVO being the latest fad. I bought the hype, and a Primary Arms Raptor 1-6 when it came out, and I never shoot with it bc I hate it. I much prefer the idea of a 3X or 5X magnifier behind an Eotech for the distances I'm shooting.

What weight recoil spring you running on your Glock?
It use to be Iron sights to 500 yards. I have heard recruits now get to use the acog.
And the target is quite large as well.

I've looked through, used, owned, and shot with over a dozen LPVO's…but never a Vudu. Thanks for the video.
Situations when DRS+Magnifier is better…
-Passive aiming under NODs is possible
-Performs much better in hard rain
-Much more durable
-Lighter than comparable LPVO
-Much faster at close-far-close shooting
-Parallax free at 0 power
-Eye relief is infinite
-Eye box is much larger
LPVOs aren’t bad but they are definitely over rated. If the shooting is dynamic, athletic, and inside 200m EOTech+Magnifier is still a significantly better option.

I think Vortex just dropped a 6x magnifier so that will be interesting. I use a 1-6x Viper but only use 1x for normal flat ranges and the 6x for hunting.
Love the content! I’d love to see more beginner to intermediate training techniques for returning the gun to target quickly and transitioning from weapon to weapon!
