In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves speaks with Jeff Carson of Aero Precision about the new Glock magazine-fed Aero Precision Enhanced Pistol Carbine EPC-10. The EPC-10 is the larger, 10mm version of the EPC-9. Interestingly, this AR/PCC will have some compatibility with .40 S&W and .45ACP. Jeff explains the features and details on today’s lost #GunFest2021 chapter.

  1. AERO needs to move out of that Left wing state and to a city and State that protects the 2nd Amendment and has the machinist to build they're precision guns Like Wichita Kansas lots of highly skilled machinist because of the Aircraft manufactures they would be welcomed with open arms!

  2. Speaking as a retired law enforcement person this is very good news. Not every officer carries a 9 mm pistol or even wants to Cary a 9 mm. The ability to have a more accurate longer range carbine style rifle that takes the same ammo and mags as your service pistol is great. It gives officers the ability to adapt to a larger variety is situations.

  3. I work for Aero Precision, DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS. The company has weighed making products that are WAY out of spec, to the point of being dangerously large or small (e.g. gas blocks that will not have a proper gas tube fit), versus putting a little bit of time and money into doing it properly, and decided that putting your safety and your firearm on the line is cheaper for them than making a quality product.

  4. 10mm over 9mm, 10mm actually can have substantial gains in velocity (with certain loads) when using longer barrels. Not saying there aren’t 9mm rounds that will see some improvements, but most 9mm that I’ve seen tested show inconsequential gains with the added barrel length.

To me the real perk of a 10mm AR is improved performance/power over a 10mm pistol counterpart. The perk of the 9mm platform is ammo cost/availability and more (capacity) mag options available on the market.

That said, to me (just my opinion so don’t get mad), the 9mm is a better range gun while the 10mm is better for defense. If I’m adding the weight/bulk of a carbine, I’d expect it to do more than the sidearm. Otherwise I’d just look into a brace option for the G17/34 if going 9mm.

  5. I prefer my direct impingement AR-10mm. And Aero's quality control and customer support are HORRENDOUS. I bought an M4 lower and the takedown pin holes were way too small. Had to pay a gunsmith to fix them (Aero didn't care at all).
