The Best Red Dots for Night Vision

Passive aiming allows you to engage targets under night vision without the use of infrared illuminators or designators. This greatly reduces your downrange signature but requires a night vision compatible optic, mounted in a night vision compatible location. Not all red dots are created equal when it comes to shooting with night vision.

  1. I tried to use a top mounted 1 MOA Trijicon RMR on a Primary Arms 3x Prism, but it's too difficult to find the dot and the chin weld is not ideal. I guess i'll try out the Eotech next. Video games like Arma make top mounted RMRs seem so cool and useable when in reality they really aren't.

  2. I know it's cheap, but what about a Sightmark M-Spec? I've run a bunch of Sightmarks and have never had one issue, with the exception of their pistol optic. That dot dances around more than meth addict at a rehab clinic.

  3. Hi, I'm not sure if you'll answer me, but do you know if there is there a reason why I cannot see the night vision settings on my Aimpoint Pro when I'm looking at it through night vision? I only see a dot when I turn it on the daylight settings. I have a gen 2+ photonis tube. I'm not sure if it's broken or if maybe my tube just can't see it for some reason.

  4. I just got in to night vision a few months ago (pvs-14) and I find that my Aimpoint comp-M4 on a 2.04 SKD mount works very well once you take off the ARD. super clear I would call it 80% or better light transmission. I like your no BS presentation style

  5. Most of us watching cant afford nods. I love your videos and you probably have a shit ton of fun making nods videos. But could you do like another pc or belt video 😔👉👈

  6. Not that anyone cares but I have been able to shoot my 507cx2 on a beretta M9A3 under night vision to 75 yards successfully in fairly low ambient light conditions, couldn’t see targets past 80 ish yards

  7. Can Someone tell me what it looks like to the naked eye when you use the Illuminator and or the ir laser? Can you see it well is it a problem like do you see it like a red Led? In my country civilians can really get these types of military lasers easily or at all only airsoft replicas

  8. Im assuming comp m5 would be pretty close to the t2 and pro but, didnt make the list because you got 2 aimpoints? One that is similar jn price but smaller in size and the other being sigantly cheaper

  9. The Aimpoint ACO, though doesn't have "night vision compatible" settings, still gets plenty dim to be safe under NVGs for passive aiming. The PRO is better if extremely dim settings are a necessity, but the extra 3-4 brightness settings are minor in this use case in my opinion. Then again most of my shooting is active aiming instead of passive, though I'm also using binos and that makes a lot of issues seem trivial with most optics.

  10. For me having my PVS14 on my DOMINANT eye (which so happens to be my right) works well. I find the biggest advantage is being able to shoot lights out (no pun intended) with my pistol red dot. So shooting passively works both on rifle and pistol, essentially the same.
